Wanted to thank you for porting this over to Xbox One for Special Edition! This is by far my favorite weapon and looks awesome with my Aragorn character. Have always loved LOTR and Aragorn. I will hopefully build a PC soon for Skyrim and will for sure get this mod again. Thanks again mate.
The hands seem to be in the wrong places when gripping these swords. They seem to unrealistically go right through the hilt's crossguard.
However, I noticed that this version of Strider's sword works just fine: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28545/? Also, that version that I provided a link for has both a one and two handed version of Strider's sword.
Hopefully you can get the hands thing fixed. The link that I provided contains a version of Strider's sword that works perfectly, for anyone in desperate need of a version with hands in the correct places.
Also, the sword in that link appears to be a bit more weathered than this sword, if you are looking for a version of Strider's sword like that. For example, along the blade there are scratches and small chunks of the blade are missing, hinting that the sword has been in many battles.
Thanks anyways for this mod. Again, hopefully you can fix the placement of the hands. Your sword looks very new. So, it is nice to have both versions of Strider's sword, that being a weathered and a new version.
If you can fix it I will definitely endorse it! Cheers!
It might have to do with something in your setup (or mine even), I wouldn't have released the mod if there was serious crossguard clipping, but I may shift things up further to compensate for bulkier gauntlets. If there's critical clippage on your end even without gauntlets on, something's definitely up. Of note though, this mod does have a 2-handed version available; as mentioned in the description the sword can be switched to a 2-hander at a smelter and a 2-handed version can also be crafted.
@DMagnus: First and foremost: Thank you very much for another superb weapon model from LOTR! It is of course superior to Ghosu's version (no offense to Ghosu) in terms of quality.
I noticed as well that the sword is a little bit out of place. That goes for 1st person but especially for 3rd person view. The position of the weapon itself is a little bit too low. That's why it seems that the hands go right through the hilt.
You can easily fix this in nifskope by adjusting the value for the y-axis under "NiTriShapeData". Increasing this parameter moves the weapon up.
I know. I've been at this for quite a while so I know my way around Nifskope quite well. It's just the adjustments I ~had~ made looked fine to me, however the positioning might be a little different in my game due to running XPMSE so I'll have to compensate.
From what I can tell, the one handed sword is still clipping a bit. However, the 2 handed version is no longer clipping. Thanks again for your time!
PS: I suppose one could use this mod as well as the version made by Ghosu? Ghosu's ranger sword seems to have seen more action than this one as it is scarred from many battles. This one seems to be bran spanking new and is all shiny. But, both are nice.
Personally, I use Ghosu's single handed sword and the two handed version of this one to give it some variety. Both versions are awesome though! However, Ghosus's versions seem to be bug free.
In any event, it is nice to have some variety when you feel like role-playing as that ranger dude from LOTR!
Thanks to everyone for their time and hard work! Peace!
Just downloaded and tested, both 1h and 2h, 1st and 3rd person. They work really fine, so it seems like they've been fixed. Thanks a lot, really good job!
I also had the Ghosu weapon pack, but only wanted this singular sword from it, now I can add this into my game with MERP's , Enpremis's & Isilmeriel's collection. The model quality looks like its better than the one found in Ghosu's mod though, maybe its just the lighting?
