Excellent! Couldn't figure out how to do this in nifskope myself a few months back. Just had to wait lol. Thank you. Endorsed.
With the HDTPE version (v1) I can't help but notice that in first person the flame hovers in front of you. Not sure if that is specific to this version or not.
Well that fixes the first issue but then adds another, the flame in the lantern loses HDT effects. So I guess it depends on whether you play first or third person.
Oh my gosh, thank you so, so much. I was so sure I would have to choose between the glass fix, or SMIM, or HDT physics for the amazing Wearable Lanterns mod until I came across your fantastic hidden gem of a fix. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Mmm, I am getting CTD again, in Hobs Falls, even IF I remove the lantern from the follower. Is CTD when crouching near your follower still a thing? Not sure what is triggering the issue now, it seemed like it was working fine. Its hard to tell what the status is since there is no bug reports @ the page, and the users don't seem to have much to say about the issue, or anything useful at least. Strange.
Figured it out - Facelight Plus: Autosneak. If you have that enabled, you'll CTD. Turn it off-fixed.
That FL+ has a number of compatiblity issues with other mods. None of them listed, or addressed by the author, who is MIA basically. I like it, but you have to turn off almost ALL of its features due to compatibility problems it creates.. Convo Facelight for example, has issues as well.
I checked the esp through TESVEdit, the difference is that "Turn Off when Sneaking" no longer affects followers, plus some dialogues options to enable it again. It is quite easy to update the esp for Classic Skyrim. I'm not sure that dialog options will work as is but it could worth to test.
It seems esp format is compatible with Classic Skyrim, it contains an edits especially to says it is a version for SE (_WL_IsSpecialEdition set to 1), so I think Chesko did it intentionally and will certainly backport this one to Classic Skyrim. Maybe an another way to solve your problem is to switch this settings to 0.
I can't extract the BSA to compare scripts :/
Edit: After checking the changelog of the SSE version, I still think it is not a good idea to use it as is. So the only way is to update orginal esp with change from the SSE one. Edit 2 : Forwarding the global setting : _WL_FollowerLanternOn and condition for Object Effect should be enough, you will not able to change the auto-toggle option through dialog topic, but you can still do it through TESVEdit.
I notice that this mod still requires the Wearable Lanterns SMIM Patch textures. But I was still getting a purple texture on the HDT version. I changed the textures paths on the nif file and now working fine.
