(3/31/2019) Work on my patch continues. Every Ingestible requires changes and most of the Constructible Objects. This will take a while. I am about 40 to 50% through the Ingestible items.
(4/6/2019) About 75% through the Ingestible items.
(5/6/2019) Found some time to continue work on the patch. A little progress made (90% Ingestible items) but ran into some issues and questions. Doing some additional research before proceeding again. Will probably have to back track some on items already done to verify they are correct.
(5/11/2019) My "studying" of CACO continues. I am diving into details of Kyrptopyr's mod like I haven't before because I want to understand as much as possible. The previous patches were a lot more guess work than actual understanding. I know this is taking a long time, but I hope to have as few bugs as possible on the first release. With that said a great deal of research is complete, and I am going back through Ingestibles as a double check.
(9/10/2019) Sorry for lack of updates for a long while. My desire to dive back into this "second job" hasn't been great. I have been spending free time actually playing games and a recent long vacation. My job also is keeping me very busy (2 year long project). I am not sure when I will be able to devote time back to trying to update the patches. When work on the patches begin again, I will let you know.
Looking for opinions on those who have also taken a look at these mods in TES5Edit. I noticed a few stew/soups that the old CACO 1.2/RND patch seem possibly off. Stews/Soups that fall into the RND EatFoodMedium have varying DrinkWaterBottle entries - typically DrinkBottle01 or DrinkBottle02. I have yet to see a real pattern. It appears to me that Kyrptopyr was trying to group stews/soups by light which would have more liquid or water in them (bottle02) and a snack, to stews/soups with still a fair amount of liquid (still bottle02) but a little more substance for a medium meal, and then the heavy/hearty stews/soups with less liquid (Bottle01) and a filling meal.
At first I thought possible medium meal stew/soups that were stews would have less water (bottle01) and soups more water (bottle02) but not the case. I am leaning toward making all medium meal stews/soups bottle02.
Any thoughts on this?
Completely different topic. I am also planning on removing any DrinkWaterBottle effects from Alcoholic beverages. Thoughts on this?
Might be a late reply, but I think your potential changes to bottle02 makes more sense since it's easier with little change in actual gameplay effects.
If you didn't do already all soups bottle2, maybe it is better to make all of them bottle1. No soup can be better or as good at quenching thirst as water.
Alcoholic beverage should slightly quench thirst. After all, that is what mediaval people drank because of poor quality water.
While I'm happy that I've had a functioning CACO-RND-HB -FF system since I found this in 2020, the thought of doing a new install and getting it to work again is scary.
And...I can envision a day I'll be forced to move to SE/AE/??, and this is pretty much perfect....
Hello, good afternoon, how are you? English is not my main language, but I will try to ask you the best I can with the help of the translator. I was just wondering if it would be too much to ask to do a solo version of RND-CACO, since I use huntin in skyrim instead of hunterborn. Anyway thanks for this hard work Sorry for the inconvenience and have a great day.
Hi CrimJackal. I love your patch and I've been trying to make a haphazard patch into CACO 2.0 using your work. But failing miserably. I've managed to patch over all the CACO and RND foods and recipes, but struggling to get wells to fill RND empty bottles (it just gives me a jug instead). Do you have any advice on how to get wells to function correctly? Thank you again for your hard work, I really hope you complete the patch for CACO 2.0 for us LE users. Edit: Fixed it. Was using the wrong Realistic needs esp.
Would you advise I get the Hunterborn - SkyTEST for CACO compatibility patch, or without CACO, when using this (the main, all-in-one file of this mod)? I'm placing this lower in load order anyway, of course.
Thanks for sharing your work on this!
Side note - am I the only one here not interested in CACO 2.0? They didn't even bother working on or merging the USLEEP compatibility patch changes or making a merged plugin, and it didn't seem like they've changed it enough to be worth being called "2.0". Compared to the work done on the original, it seems more like a pretext to gain popularity and practically mostly reuse work for this "2.0" catchy named version. No, thanks. It feels more like stealing, not that I've looked into that mod much though to be honest.
I despair of seeing the release version for this for CACO V2, all my loadorder is based on RND. I'm totally missing this patch to be able to integrate the wonderful CACO V2 ! Plleeaassseee usss poor RND users we are !!!
Sorry but afraid I have not made any additional progress. Been very busy last couple of weeks from work to family and friends being in town to attending a charity event and attending the last few games of Dirk Nowitzki. This weekend is booked and potentially next weekend also. I might get a free evening or two during the week next week but can't make any promises.
Love your previous work on this CJ, can't wait for the update for CACO 2.0. I think hunterborn already came out with a compatibility patch for CACO 2.0, but I'm really interested in your vigor patch. Thanks again!
