Hey I had a crazy Idea for a mod. I don't know how it would be (probably pretty tricky I would say) The Idea I had is if the hides/skins where actually removed when you loot the animals, similar to that of hunting and skinning animals in red dead redemption where there is a short animation, and the result being a bloody skinless carcase, maybe even missing a few tusks.
Even if there wasn't an animation, just switching out the model when you exit the looting menu to the skinned model. That would be really sweet.
Anyway just though I would throw that out there. Maybe I will even have a go at it my self.
i totally agree to sukeban! just make sure the loot firs the anatomy and tweak some wights of larger peltpieces or tusks. and indeed in the middlegaes a pelt trader was actually pretty rich. also indians in america traded pelts for weapons witht the ueropean settlers. i also think it is pretty ballanced. u wont kill a white sabrecat with pelts worth over 500 at level 1.
this mod looks great! haven't been able to dl yet, but should work wonders for my bosmer bowman.
my suggestions: 1. resounding "yes" to moar meat from larger animals. 1 horker meat from an enormous horker, no way! more like 10, at least, so we don't have to drive horkers into extinction trying to make ourselves a meal. 2. four rabbit legs on a rabbit, same for goat. two tusks on a mammoth or horker. have loot directly correspond to anatomy of the prey. 3. general bump for prices of pelts (not meat though). historically, animal pelts have been a huge commodity, making traders and merchants rich. snow cat pelt is royal-grade pelt and tough to kill. should be very valuable, like ~400-500 or so. ditto for mammoth tusks. this would make being a hunter economically more viable as well, even at a higher level, competing with alchemy, nchant, and smithing. 4. slight increase in weight for larger animals. bears are way larger than humans, their pelts should weigh in the double digits.
Here are some ideas: - add more new loot to animals that can be sold (fangs, tusk, etc.) - make deer more difficult to catch - add merchants who suggest better price for hunter's stuff - mammoth has to have 2 tusk at least. - make killing mammoth much more profitable And - when you take hide from animal, nothing changes in the model of this animal. Doesn't it annoy you?
A deer should drop more than 2 pounds of meat, make it more. Also, can you break it down so the deer or whatever drop multiple meat per animal. for example: I kill a deer it drops 10 pounds of venison, make it so it drops 10 seperate venison weighting 1 pound. I say this because it does not make sense that I can only make 1 pot of stew from one deer, and i am using a 'must eat' mod. I hope this makes sense.

You should try "Birds and Flocks" by Kazoomie. It's a bird mod.
They are lacking
