In general, the atmosphere is very cool. The mod fits perfectly into the situation of the civil war. And remotely, as if the mod itself hints "While you are doing other things or leaving, they can come to you and take everything. Don't hesitate, stop the madness" or describes how ambitious decisions and propaganda affect battles (Tulius tries to calm down, and Ulfric only shouts " Imperial dogs, beat those who are not Nord!"
If detailed:
1. Battle at the sea of ghosts. Even from afar, a dragon is seen circling over the broken ships. The dragon is not ordinary, but sea. If you stagger between the rubble (it sounds strange, but it is true), you can find another dragon... dead (kinder surprise lol). A living dragon flies to itself, puffs with fire, and in general, feels great as the owner of the house. Apparently, according to the author's idea, it was these two dragons that caused the tragedy that broke out here. For my taste, it was done well, only one thing is embarrassing - the ships, for some reason, are buried in the ground and stuff like that. The idea with the wreckage of warships is essentially great, but the execution is lame on all four paws. Maybe during the fight, the dragons were able to somehow turn the ships over during the raid / pushback with clawed paws / powerful Shouts? I was embarrassed that one of the boats was too close to land, and buried as if the dragon had pressed a couple of times like the squirrel Scrat from Ice Age movie while jumping. A discrepancy has been noticed... One of the vertically standing ships completely blocks the entrance to the signal tower from The Watch Towers mod.
2. Battle of the White Coast. Pretty vast battlefield... Scattered items are never playable and are placed only for entourage. Everywhere, for some reason, Imperial banners and flags with the symbols of the rebels are placed... There are too many executioners' axes stuck in the snow... In a ruler - this is how they plant carrots. I don’t know what inspired the author of the mod when creating this post-battle scene, but aren’t there too many two-handers, half driven into the ground, with skulls strung on them? In my case, they are also sheathed... Here, on the other hand, I managed to find a unique weapon - the Lanfael sword. He's amazingly handsome! Separately, I would like to say about the place of residence of the local ice troll. He settled there and lived, and then the war! So, my dear Dovakin colleagues, you won’t have to loot calmly - the troll master will appear. Some moments raise questions, but if all this is not taken seriously and not looked at closely, then this place seems quite tolerable and adds a lot of atmosphere. For which it’s just a bold plus and perfectly conveys what I described in the comment header itself.
3. Ambush in the gorge. Omitting the details, we can only say that now it is difficult for NPCs from mods to get through there - they simply get stuck there. The space is very tight and difficult to get through. Adventurers and Trevalirs, Bandits and etc from different mods, such as Populated Lands Roads Paths and Forts Reborn2, maybe can get stuck in the gorge...
I also thought about returning the Popular Civil War mod, where in one of the battles the event takes place between the Alchemist's Hut and the place of your mod. That is, between them. However, I don't know if this mod will conflict with others. If someone has tried, answer, what if I'm wrong? :)
After downloading this, it just keeping crashing of freezing my game. No matter what i do to lower the chances of it crashing, best advice is leave it alone and let it whither void.
Yeah it sucks and not exactly fair to those who still haven't jumped over to SSE, but, more people are going to switch so it still makes sense to leave this behind.
It's a good mod, honestly. A little bit too heavy for my machine (GTX 275), but it did add some much needed reminders that there is/was an active Civil War in Skyrim. Large-scale bloody battles were fought, and as a result, it adds a little bit of life (ironically) to the civil war, that the battles we fight in weren't the only ones to be fought.
I have to pull it from my game for the sole reason of my poor old graphics card just not quite being up to it. Wish I could keep it in, but I don't do much in the way of fast-travel, and it's really hard to fight off wildlife and random encounters when dropping to single-digit frame-rates.
Still, I've endorsed it, because for machines stronger than mine, it does add a touch of grim reality to the Civil War, while being otherwise relatively unobtrusive, as the battles are placed in areas that aren't often traveled, so they have to be found. That, and looting the battle-fields doesn't really break the balance of the game, either, as all you get are a handful of faction-favored weapons and armors, a helping of early-game arrows, and some generic low-grade loot, so it doesn't feel like cheating to walk through and play vulture.
I can't really say I enjoyed it, but it does enhance the feeling that Skyrim is currently in a war, so I guess I enjoyed that aspect of it. It's a great mod, and if you're playing Skyrim LE, it might be worth a spot in your load order. If you're playing Skyrim SE, well, I can't speak for that one, but I'd assume it's the same great thing.
Excellent mod, however, I did experience some rather large fps drops (10-20 fps from 60) around the area. This is probably due to all the corpses, and the enhanced blood mod doesn't help either. Just something of note; great mod though!.
Looks like a fantastic mod and a great improvement to vanilla skyrims setting. may i make a request for a version of this mod that doesnt add any unique items or npcs/dragons? (pretty much a basic version). im using the requiem overhaul at the moment and would like to just add some immersive war scenery pretty much (something that the witcher 3 does way better than skyrim). thanks a lot (y) edit: also, what mod are you using to get chainmail on the imperial armor?
