thank you all for your dedication, support for eachother and the ideas you have brought to my attention. For the last year, dealing with skyrim has been a great nuissance for me, which is why I haven't been active for all that time. I want to recommence working on this mod, however there is a clear starting point for me: the Special Edition. Due to issues with the Script Extender it is questionable if I can manage to port the mod over at all. If I can't, that'll be the end of this mod. Should I manage however, I will release and continue to update it for the Special Edition and also create a backport to Oldrim.
That said, if anyone who reads this can help me with getting either input simulation to work on gamepad or create the entire magic casting procedure by forcing animation events, please provide me with your insight.
Any further developments on getting this over to SSE? I never played with this in LE, but it looks very good and a more natural mechanic for spell casting than any others I have seen. It would be a shame to see this mod die because it can't play nice with SKSE.
I know you have been getting a lot of people asking how to bind/unbind hot-keys, and I have a few suggestions on how to make this more clear. These are only suggestions, I am not in any way saying you must follow any of them. First, the description on how to assign spells states to hold, "the designated hot-key," however, in the explanation video it is made clear to actually hold the Equip-key set in the MCM menu. People who read the description may assume all they have to do is hold a button they want hot-key'ed (say, 'B') and then select the spell they want the key assigned to. Second, it may be helpful to mention that the Equip-key, Unmap-key, and hot-keys can all be found and set in the MCM menu, and do not have a default key assigned to them. Third, a short explanation of what a "modifier" is would be helpful. Fourth and final, bullet-points on what "L", "R", "B", and "V" mean when assigning a slot would clear up some confusion. Without the explanation, it looks like the player is supposed to press that key to cast a spell, when that is not the case. Again, these are only friendly suggestions.
Is it possible to add an option to only equip the spell (without reverting back to the old one). Also the minimum 0.50 delay needs to be further decreased.
This is so much immersive rather than Smart Cast. Smart cast doesn't trigger the animation, so it feels like cheating. And this mod is immersive, it's not cheating.
Also FYI noticed a recurring issue with this mod. I'll install it, it'll work great for a few hours and then the hotkeys will stop responding. Only disabling the mod, clean saving and reinstalling fixes this and then it breaks again in a few hours.
I cannot fathom why this was never included in the vanilla game. When I use stuff like SkyrimSouls which unpauses game menus, using the favourites menu to cast spells is impossible and will end in death 90% of the time. Thank you a bunch for this.
quick question. Do I have to install all this required mods if I just want to use to mouse and keyboard? I am just making sure I am not installing somethging I don't need

Until then, may Godd Howard return to his senses.
Try this mod: Hotkey Auto Cast
It's based off of this mod and does exactly what it says; cast spells with a hotkey. It does not offer any auto-casting however.
