As RZDZK13 and Benna96 mentioned, Katla has a neck seam (I spawned but didn't bother to undress Sybille Stentor, and Aringoth) since Katla has light clothing it's really noticeable unlike the other two who are mostly covered. I deleted both the mesh and texture for Katla (00013290.dds and 00013290.NIF) from the mod folder (I use Mod Organizer 2) and then proceeded to delete all of the records from Katla in the "Ultimate NPC Overhaul II.esp" file using TES5Edit https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859. I'm pretty sure it can be done for the other two or even better, edit so that the mesh and hair in the esp match but I just downloaded and modded Skyrim this very week and I just want to play.

Also, if you want to test easily anywhere on the map, just make a txt file (I named mine s.txt) inside the game folder(not the data) next to 'TES5.exe' and type inside of the file "player.placeatme 00013290 1" without quotations; that's the console command to spawn Katla. Then, in-game open the console ~ key or the key below "ESC" left of 1 or above "TAB" and type bat "the name of your file" example of a file named s.txt "bat s" and press enter; just don't save your game after or else you will have two Katlas roaming the world. For Sybille and Arigoth use "player.placeatme 000132AA 1" and "player.placeatme 0001334A 1" on different lines in the same txt file.

I just checked and for me Sybille doesn't seem to have a neck seam while Aringoth does but he has his neck well covered so nothing mayor unless you want to see him naked for some reason.

um the LovleyHairstylesCE.esp and SGHairPackAIo.esp SGHairPackBase.esm are no longer available and they are hard requirements. what do I do?
does anyone know a place to get them that isn't nexus?

I used to have this on my old PC. Had I known they would be removing things I could have saved it. Only option is to look for someone with the file or download version 3 and use another mod to change NPCs hair like ApachiiSkyHair NPC Overhaul. Man, this was the best NPC overhaul of them all.

Edit: So... if you search for "Lovely Hairstyles Skyrim LE" you will find both mods on the second page. Be careful tough, you should download and open them in Skyrim to see if they work.

"This mod has no dependencies other than the base game"
    Installs: This mod depends on: ApachiiHair.esm ApachiiHairFelames.esm ApachiiHairMales.esm KS Hairdo's.esp LovleyHairstylesCE.esp SGHairPackAIo.esp SGHairPackBase.esm TheEyesOfBeauty.esp .....

Thanks for commenting this. I was really confused because of the different info in those 2 requirement sections but now I understand that those hair mods are hard requirements. Not to sound ungrateful, but imo the author needs to make it really clear about the mod's dependencies in the Requirements section at the top of the description page. It's how most people confirm a mod's dependencies before deciding to download or not.

This mod pre-dates that functionality of the Nexus to have a requirements section.

The mod was uploaded long before Nexus overhauled their interface. Back then there was no requirements tab

    I'm having two problems.

    1. The skin on my NPCs don't look like the ones in the pictures - mine are all kinda dirty and bleh looking.
    2. Some of the NPCs have vanilla hair???

I downloaded all the required mods and I do not have any other skin mods on (to my knowledge).

    Can anybody help me?

Late reply but read the descript carefully. You need to use the author's recc' skin mod, which is Coverwomen

Another problem I've stumbled across in a recent reinstallation is that a lot of NPC's had grey faces or dirty face textures compared to their body when they have hair from apachiiskyhairs. I fixed it by installing the mod version that precedes the last updated date for this mod (27 Sep 2016). In this case I had apachiiskyhair male version 1.3 which was released october 2020 and so I reverted to version 1.2 which was released feb 2014 and that fixed most of the NPCs with greyface/dirty face texture with apachiiskyhairs. It seems the newer versions of the hair mods (not just apachii) have conflicting textures of some kind that causes this so it is wise to make sure to install the requirements on versions this mod was released at.

hi RZDZK13, is it possible to know which version of each dependencies you have? To know which one is the best to have for now until there is a fix or advice on which version to get (or maybe never since it's been 5 years since the last update holy sh** it's old now)

      For:
      apachiiskyhairs = v1.6 full, female = v1.5 and male v1.2
      lovely hairstyles = v2.1
      KS hairdos = v1.3
      Eyes of beauty = v9
SG hairs= SG Hair 268 (you can find it on gamebanana just google it)

Thank you RZDZK13. That was very helpful.

As a follow up, I'll leave this link here:

      SG Hair 268

This is the Google Drive file. Gamebanana works too, but is a painfully slow download. ?GD is much faster.

Can confirm, I spawned in every single NPC from the mod.

Newest Apachii hair breaks 6 males. Newest KS Hairdos breaks 8 females. And if you're on SSE, using the newest Eyes of Beauty SSE breaks 1 NPC.
The grey face bug has nothing to do with textures! It's purely a mesh thing. It happens when the headparts specified in the esp and in the facegen mesh (.nif) don't match.
The hair ones are because the hair mods decided to add scalp hairlines to the hairs at some point. So, the ESP says the NPC's headparts are "head, mouth, eyes, eyebrows, fancy hair & scalp hairline". The facegen meshes don't have them, so they say "head, mouth, eyes, eyebrows & fancy hair". There's a mismatch between the two, causing the grey face bug.

There are also 3 NPCs who get grey face regardless. Go ahead, check out Katla, Sybille Stentor & Aringoth. No way around it, 3 NPCs are fundamentally broken.

That said, not sure I'd consider 18 NPCs "a lot", considering the mod affects almost 800 NPCs total.

These seem lovely, not over-the-top at all. Almost 800 NPCs in there, too, that's a great base to add some other overhauls on top of.

That said, I have found some issues, and want to leave a comment to inform others about them.

First, while the description claims they are not, children ARE in fact touched. They're not touched by the .esp, but the mod includes facegen meshes for them, looks to be the ones from RS Children. No textures tho, so anyone without RS Children or overwriting facegen is gonna have a bunch of purple in their game probably.

Second, despite the description claiming otherwise, the mod DOES cause a couple of gray faces:

    • 00013290 (Katla), due to esp and mesh giving her different hair
    • 000132AA (Sybille Stentor), due to esp and mesh giving her different eyes
    • 0001334A (Aringoth), due to esp changing him to Wood Elf but mesh not changing accordingly

Third, and this is not caused by the mod, just leaving it here for informational purposes, using newer versions of the required mods causes some gray faces.

    • Due to KS Hairdos Renewal adding scalp hairlines some time after 1.3:
      • 000132AA (Sybille Stentor)
      • 000135ED (Jonna)
      • 0001361A (Karita)
      • 00013BA3 (Hulda)
      • 0001411D (Adelaisa Vendicci)
      • 0001C19B (Nirya)
      • 000A2C8E (Lydia)
      • 000B8149 & 000C0401 (Salonia Carvain)
    • Due to ApachiiSkyHair Male adding scalp hairlines some time after 1.2:
      • 000135E7 (Aslfur)
      • 00013BB7 (Skulvar Sable-Hilt)
      • 00019A22 (Lodvar)
      • 0003550B (Embry)
      • 00098BD1 (Ysgramor)
      • 000AE779 (Badnir)
    • (SSE only) Due to The Eyes of Beauty SSE 1.2+ changing some eye names
      • 0001412C (Nilsine Shatter-Shield)

yeah, you're screwed. this is basically the only NPC overhaul for LE and its uninstallable as one of the mods required was probably deleted in this most recent trend of authors deleting their mods because of what Nexus is trying to do with mods regarding "collections" which is supposed to be designed to prevent this very thing.

it prevents mod authors from deleting their mods so mods like this one can still be installed and function. so authors are deleting their mods, which is screwing everyone over and a pretty selfish thing for these authors to do.

if you dig around the internet, you might find a copy somewhere you can download that someone reuploaded on places like loverslab or reddit.

if you dont want to do that, you'll have to settle for this if you're desperate enough for an npc overhaul: Inhabitants of Skyrim

I highly doubt the hair mods required for inhabitants of Skyrim will ever be deleted as it would end in a catastrophe within the modding community as so many mods require them.

@ MythicalTwinkies Nice Hot Take, but Your timeline just doesn't work. SG Hair 268 LE hasn't been around for awhile, just scroll down a few posts. I don't know why it was removed for LE, but it happened months before the change in terms at the Nexus.
You CAN download the file from the Google Drive from that post, too.
So if the OP really wants to use this mod, it's perfectly usable.
