I love all these mods that do not make the entire world revolve around you. You should also add "You Hunger" to rec list, that removes most of the food.
Oh, we certainly needed a mod like this, Now i just need one that makes crops stolen when you take them, also, can anyone recommend a mod that stops people from giving you useful items? No body wants that kind of crap. Way to many generous NPCS in this game. All gold should also be found only, and never giving to you from people.
But thank you for this mod, i can finally resist the urge to take items completely optional to pick up.
A good way to help reign in freebies, at least partly.
Here is my recommended settings
Friend,6 Friendship only goes so far ~25% Confidant, 20 Really good friends40% Ally, 55 Allies support each other55% Lovers,400 Pretty much share anything 80%
Using this mod, along with MLU, which is a good scarcity type mod in its own right, will help slow down NPC giveaways. The bunkhouse in Riften is a good example of really bad implementation of NPC giveaways. As soon as you give Shavee?, that healing potion, every single item in bunkhouse, along with the dock area and good part of the fishery comes up for grabs, despite the fact that makes almost no sense at all. This mod cant fix that directly, but will help reduce things like that in game to an extent.
I always found it unrealistic that you could pretty much after doing a favor for NPC's in Whiterun basically walk off with everything they own and go sell it all at Belethor's. I tend to use restraint when it comes to NPC's only taking what would be useful and would make sense....example some food, waterskins, crafting supplies, minor amounts of gold etc. I don't take crops either but I realize that this mod is for those that can't show restraint. Pretty much the same as the one that disables fast travel in the name of realism when one could just simply NOT fast travel lol
This mod is not just for those that can't show restraint. This mod is also for those who would be interested in stealing the stuff instead.
I came up with the idea when I started a playthrough intending to play as a thief and then for the first time paid attention to how much stuff I was allowed to take. Before that I hadn't really even noticed, because I just never even considered taking Jarl Balgruufs silverware or something.
Playing as a thief it would feel absurd to refuse taking all that fancy expensive stuff when given the opportunity, but it also felt really unrewarding since I didn't have to put any effort into it and since it all can be sold anywhere at any time. (where as selling stolen property is restricted)
That is why I made this mod. I would very much like to play as a thief and I want to keep it immersive and somewhat challenging. That is also why I use several mods that adjust the amount of loot and money I can find, so that there's a point to stealing. I used to mostly not steal anything before making these changes, because getting rich was so easy even without ever stealing anything.
That is a good point, never thought about it that way. Thievery is kind of pointless without this mod as most npc's don't have or display items that would still be considered theft after doing a favor for them.
The game behaviors are often bit strange, and not ever immersive, so i cant understand that some like or need a mod like this. For my part i don't pick-up all stuff i see just because i can. Mostly heavy for just a few coins. And in real i wouldn't grab a friends clothes, his cooking-pots, tools. Maybe a bit food, a weapon at last. Same in the jarls houses. A good dinner is fine, i mean i fight the dragons, save the city, he can spend me a good meal from time to time.
What i would love more, don't know how do this exactly, is a way that the accidently pick-up of objects isn't so easy. Happen to often, you are in a shop, you will just look at this book, a wrong click, and you pick-up this stupid object for 2 coins, and all are running after you. Problem is, there are so many things in the game that seem still right to me, the to kind npc are just one of these.
I too, wouldn't grab a friends clothes or cooking-pots and tools and I'm perfectly capable of playing the game without doing so even if this is allowed - and I have. This mod is not just for those that can't show restraint. This mod is also for those who would be interested in stealing the stuff instead.

Yes, after installing this mod Balgruuf will not be so generous. Even after telling him about the dragon you can only take food, some alchemy ingredients and stuff like paper wraps without stealing them.

Am I assuming right that it will work in this regard?
