OK, guys, I just updated the patch for Go To Bed's latest version. It is not an absolute requirement though. You only need it if you have trouble manipulating your followers' sleeping bags. If you don't and all worked fine for you, I suppose you can do without the patch .
THANK YOU ALL for your endorsements and wonderful support.
You took Sleeping Bags to the HotFiles in less than 24 hours and I haven't had the time to thank you for that. So thank you. A lot.
Now just a quick "HOW TO" for those of you who like to skip mods' description pages:
- Install only one Main File, HoamaiiSleepingBags OR HoamaiiSleepingBags_Frostfall-V0.3. Both require SKSE and SkyUI. The Frostfall version requires... Frostfall (obviously), version 3.0.3 (and Frostfall requires Campfire).
- If you use Go To Bed for sleep mod, install the GoToBed-Patch, from Option files. If you use Another Sleep Mod or Simple Actions, no need for a patch, Sleeping Bags are natively compatible with these mods.
- In game, go to your MCM menu to add Dragonborn or Dawnguard ammos if you installed either of these, then click on "Add Custom Ammmos" if you have custom arrows or bolts in your inventory.
- You can craft your sleeping bags (Dovahkiin's and Follower's) at the Tanning Rack, under Misc.
- To use them, just drop them to the ground (preferably on fairly even ground, animations work better), activate to unfold them, place them as you like, and activate to choose how you want to use them.
- 'Dovahkiin Sleeping Bag' is the one you want to use with your sleep mod to sleep, 'Dovahkiin Laydown Sleeping Bag' can be used to lie down (and sleep if you want to, or just relax) by choosing either option: lie down, meditate or sit. When you're lying down, all you need to do is use your activate key to sleep or get up. That's E for keyboards, A for XBox controllers, and X for PS3 controllers. You can also use the Jump key to get up at any time (just don't use it while in TFC mode!).
- Followers' sleeping bags work exactly the same except for the fact that followers can't sleep using the laydown animation of course, they'll just lie down and relax. Place them anywhere you want for your followers to use when they're sandboxing.
- Once Sleeping bags are on the floor, you can also move them, change the animation types, and pick them up of course.
- Your "Lie Under Blanket" power can also be used anywhere to just lie down under a blanket.
Just don't forget to download Gamwich's beautiful retexture of my Sleeping Bags from the Option Files, they're awesome!.. Please, kudos him for me, as well as my friend BugNexus: without him, this mod would still be... well, in my "WIP" files.
Now, if you wanna know more, I'm afraid you'll have to read the description... ;)
Cant i pickup the sleeping bag and put it back in my inventory again after sleeping on it?? How do i pick it back up? After choosing the option "Prepare for sleep" the Sleeping bag model changes and the "dragonborn book" on the sleeping bag disappears.. then after that the only Activation Prompt i get is "Sleep"... so i cant pick it up again
Help. What am i doing wrong? I dont use any of other sleeping mods / sleep animation mods.. just vanilla when it comes to sleeping, all i want is a portable sleeping bed so i can get Well Rested bonus from anywhere
afraid i already tried that... the only prompt i get is "sleep" even after having already slept on it. the dragonborn book also does not reappear
oh and i almost forgot, afaik this Faster Sleep Wait (SKSE) is the only sleep related mod im using.. although its only a .dll so i dont think its the one causing the problem/conflict... anyways.. thanks for the reply.. the problem is most certainly on my end.. probly conflicting on some other mods i use... just cant pinpoint it atm.
You do need a player sleep mod for the "sleep" option to work - check the description about that. The mod you're using is NOT a sleep animation mod, use the "laydown" option instead of "prepare to sleep", that one you can sleep in even if you don't have a third party sleep mod in you load order. Again, please read the description before using a scripted mod.
OMG i'm sucha dumdum! i didnt paid much attention ont the DO's part.. thought i could figure it out myself as i used the mod, like "click next next next voila" how dumb of me
I got it to work now! it seems i shouldve used the "Laydown" option instead of the "prepare to sleep" like it states on the DO's on the description page that you kindly repeated to tell me..
Thanks so much for the replies and patience towards people like myself.. really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day kind author @Hoamaii
Hi. I will need patch to work this mod with Religion mod ? Or during the meditation show up shrine that we worship specific devine? ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67663?tab=posts )
Hard for me to say for sure since Chesko has not released a change log that I know of for version 3.4.1. Assuming that if he had been making drastic changes to his AV system, he would have mentionned it in his logs, I'd guess it probably still works the same. But the only way to know for sure would be to try it. As I have no time atm to test it myself, I'd appreciate if you let me know what you find. Thanks.
I am having a issue with this mod, The mod does not load the spell when installed and when I try to use a sleeping bag the only option is to pick it up. I am using go to bed but installed patch and in MCM it says there is no conflicts. I have reinstalled twice , moved mod from bottom to top of load order and its the same. I even extracted from BSA and manually installed ( 3rd time install ) and its the same as well. Its like the scripts are not loading or activating. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Troyy, apparently Andrelo1 has been changing his Go To Bed system again very recently - if your sleeping bag's menu doesn't show up properly that means his new version somehow not only blocks beds but also activators, thus preventing my mod to run as it should... The player's sleeping bag is actually not a furniture, but an activator just for that reason - can you please confirm that the item you're trying to activate when you only get the option to pick it up is the player's sleeping bag (the one which has the black "Dovahkiin book" on it)? Sorry about that but the issue is not with my mod, it's with GTB's new version - I'll check with Andrelo about that.
Not sure any is still available - GTB's versions have been changed pretty often lately and older versions and patches removed from the mod's page. You may want to try "Another Sleep Mod" if you can get it - if not, PM me, Pevey (author of ASM) has just given me permission to reupload his mod.
I've been having issues with the Nexus new authentification system in the past few hours (https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14163?BH) - it's failing to recognize my ID on my main browser - I may be unable to log in again if I have to shut down this secondary browser. I've asked the staff to fix this - hopefully it shouldn't take too long...
Well its not GTB because I am getting same results with ASM , some mod I am using is mucking it up. Could be Solitude Furniture , Campfire , Tentapoloza or Live Anywhere. Those are the mods I can think of that Iam using might effect the bedroll and spell scripts.
Well I tried it with Solitude Furniture and Live Anywhere both removed , still same issue. I even pulled out AE Animations thinking because it has a Lie Down power in it that it might be what was causing the spell not too load. Was not it , still the same issue. I just dont know , I have a pretty heavily modded game . Could be one of my adult mods causing issue. I have spent pretty much all day trying to get this to work , think I will throw in the towel for now. Thanks for trying to help.
Well, that's completely unheard of. First, that player sleeping bag (the one with the book) is an activator - not a furniture. And the script attached is a very simple one, which is here to call a "menu " with 4 options: 1. pick it up 2. sleep (in which case, the script spawns a real unscripted furniture bedroll in place of the activator) 3. move the object around 4. exit the menu. If you only get option 1 and none of the others, it means the "menu" itself is being messed up with. I have absolutely no idea what type of mod could "block" a custom activator's script, or mess up with a custom menu. Very unlikely that the mods you mention have anything to do with it. I suppose you've tried reinstalling the mod and moving it at the end of your load order, right? (though load order really shouldn't matter). If you've enabled Papyrus log, could you search your log 0 for anything with "HSB_" prefix in it and PM it to me?
Made a fresh install of mod and enabled Papyrus log. Will PM results . Added Log of current character and a New one i made to see if it worked with a fresh game. It did not Also included SS of bag on ground showing only option.
i think i'm getting an issue like this as well. when i 1st install the mod, the MCM loads fine. all looks well in the mcm. yet i get no power or spell automatically added. i can add the lie on blanket spell thru console and that helps. the other spells don't seem to allow adding by console. is there a quest stage console command i can use to check if quest is running, or to start it? follower bags seem to work ok
Just want a support patch for the hypothermia plus not that Frostfall so that the buff or debuff will load. it looks like that camp_Frostfall has already contained a lot of similar functions as this mod does. Frostfall is great, but, not everyone wants to use it because it contained a lot of none-magic spells that make no sense and brake immersion. Why not just make a support patch for a simple clean mod like hyporhermia+?
Hello, can you make it compatible with the Immersive Beds Mod? I'm currently using that mod to this day, but when I tried to activate your mod in the MCM, It doesn't have that option
No, I won't, sorry. "Immersive Beds" was a pioneer mod in 2013 but turned out to have a lot of bugs in the long run which could really corrupt your saves. I'd strongly advise that you remove it from your load order and replace it with "Another Sleep Mod" or "GoToBed' instead (links in the description page). Both are very clean and stable. The main difference is ASM will only work with Vanilla beds and bedrolls but not with custom beds (meaning if a house mod uses some other bed form than Vanilla, ASM will not recognize that bed unless patched), and GTB will work with all bed forms, including custom ones, but will block custom scripts attached to beds (meaning if a custom bed is scripted by its author, GTB will prevent that script to run properly). Both are minor drawbacks and the choice is a matter of preference or habit. Personally, I prefer to use Another Sleep Mod because I want to limit the number of skse plugins in my game and I tend to avoid mods which modify Vanilla assets - but my sleeping bags are designed to work with both mods anyway. In any case, you really should stay away from Immersive Beds.

Sorry about that but the issue is not with my mod, it's with GTB's new version - I'll check with Andrelo about that.
Yes its the Dovahkiin sleeping bag. Although you cant see the book as its rolled up.
Should I try a older version of GTB if i can find it?
