Download the Heavily Modded version if your Skyrim is difficult/hard to balance/you use Imperious. It will raise the starting stats and rebalance the Chiss' Racial Abilities.
Download the Lightly Modded version if your Skyrim is closer to vanilla/you don't use perk overhauls/You don't use race overhauls/your character doesn't need a starting boost.
I've tried to make this mod work since April. No luck.
No matter where I put it in my load order and no matter what other mods I disable that might be in conflict with it, the character creation simply does not work. When trying to create a Chiss character, I cannot change the skin color or hair options.
I've installed 4 other custom races and none of them give me issues like this one. Disappointing to say the least. Especially since this looked like it had a lot of promise.
I wasn't blaming you. I know there is a conflict somewhere but cannot pinpoint where it might be coming from.
And, I endorsed regardless. Here's a link to a screenshot I took of the character I made: http://i.imgur.com/zRY5LiA.png
Just in case anyone else DOES run into the same problem with this or any other custom race I found a workaround. It's tedious but it works.
-Create a character of any vanilla race. For some reason the Chiss eyes were available to all of my races so select the one you want. Select the eyes and hair you want for your Chiss. -Next, manually set the player race to chiss using the console command to do so. -Use the console to showracemenu. -Your character should turn blue. -From there you can change war paints, hair color (still not the style but you would have already picked one anyway), and other features. -Enter a name. -Play.
Hi, just stopped by to say incredible job on this race mod. Truly awesome work. I have gladly endorsed your work. I have added some screen shots of my new Chiss character Alexa Zarr, hope you like them. Also I love the fact that this mod uses what body and skin textures I use in my game. Thank you for sharing this with all of us here on the Nexus. I truly appreciate it.
So this adds the STAR WARS RACE The Chiss to skyrim? Nice, but to be fair it does not need to be lore friendly if they are an incredibly advanced race (which they are) and have incredibly advanced tech.
Probably it's a conflict, but i can't make any hair work on the Chose race, not even vanilla ones. For the record, I have the full invasion mod. Can anyone? help?
I'm having the same problem. I've played around with load order and tried both the Heavily and Lightly modded versions. The race looks good and functions fine until I try to change the hair which is super disappointing.
For fun, I'd like to propose my own tailored Chiss stats. Not for changes I'd like to see in a mod I want to use, but purely for consideration.
Male and female chiss tend to be more powerfully built than those of the human race. A chiss stands on average 1.7 meters. On average a human stands just below 1.85 meters. Obesity is a rarity amon the Chiss. They often appear in very good physical shape, which according to the University of Sanbra, appears to be an indication of an active metabolism responsible for this in additon to a loer body temperature. Chiss experience accelerated Growth compared to humans, reached maturity much faster than humans and have a ceiling life expectancy of 80 years. As a people, they were intelligent as well as highly valuing of their privacy. In combat situations, Chiss acted both calmly and intelligently as well as formed well planned strategies.
From the wookieepedia (I'm getting all this info from there btw): "Some reports indicated that there were no Chiss Jedi and it was not known whether there was a Force-tradition within Chiss society. However, this did not appear to be the case as there were at least two known Force users amongst the Chiss."
What does this all mean? Well, Chiss are very intelligent and in great shape, more so than humans, but they are shorter. Probably male bosmer height, but with the sexual dimorphisms of humans. I don't think there's a just one race we can model them off of in either Skyrim or Oblivion/Morrowind. Similar in all aspects but having more stamina, they are more hale than regular humans. Weaknesses-wise, they'd be the same as Imperials, but instead of focusing on speech, they have better Endurance rather than Personality.
Magic is not their focus. Their mental acuity is focused more on the "mundane' ingenuities which the everyman aspires to. What I take away from information on whether the Chiss have prevalent Force-Sensitivity is that they regard it as an edge they refuse utterly to let anyone know they have, or that it's incredibly rare. It may be a combination of the two.
Stats Health 100, Stamina 120, Magicka 80 Stamina regen: +2%, +.15% in combat Magicka regen: -5%
Abilities Weapons and armor are automatically improved when crafted. Mixed potions are 20% stronger. Disenchanted items do not break.
Power Brilliance: For 60 seconds, deflect arrows, resist bashes, ignore blocking, and ignore extra damage from power attacks/bashes.
I wanted to capture the chiss' superior intelligence and ingenuity in their p. The combat benefits chosen reflect their ability to plan ahead, and thus be "ready" for their opponents. It's a trait that doesn't make them unbeatable, but makes them formidable opponents in a fight. Skills were chosen to allow players to pick whatever offensive skill they want to work with without finding one more attractive just because it has more points. Creativity/problemsolving are also evident in the bonuses to the crafting skills. Tactics is evident in the bonus to sneak, a possible method by which a chiss may observe his enemies before striking. Blocking showcases a chiss' tactics and survivability conventional battle. Speech of course reflects the unsettling presence a chiss has, especially when their eyes are an intense bright red, but this doesn't give them any sway over people. It makes them appear more interesting, odd, noticeable. A chiss can use that to their advantage, but their difference in appearance next to humans is not more alluring in any manner on its own.
Great Mod. I love it. I noticed after I installed Racemenu I think. I can no longer pick between the different skin colors. I can only change the color with the "color slider" or whatever its called. The stock options are gone. Any ideas or recommendations?
Thanks. Moved it above racemenu in the order and still no go. Would you mind maybe replying with the stock color codes. Then I can just input them manually at least.
Umm... am I doing something wrong? I really like the way the characters look in the pictures, but when I tried it, all the female characters and presets looked a bit like blue-skinned ape people. Not attractive at all, worse than vanilla. Even the skin looked weird-textured and creased and I couldn't find anything that looked nice. I didn't see any other mods listed in the description to "pretty" them up -- is another mod interfering, or am I missing something?
Hi there. I think you might just need to hunt down some skin and face mods. I didn't include any of them in the mod because I figure it's easier to let people decide how they want their game to look than it is to decide for them.
PureSkin and Better Male Faces is a good start, by the way!
so I must install Grand Admiral Thrawn to have them as npcs? and what's the females body type on Grand Admiral Thrawn and this? and can you please make a patch for this race and Grand Admiral Thrawn to work with schlong of skyrim?
Just downloading to endose really lol Im already using your main mod But not a bad idea to release a few standalone followers so people can get to know the Chiss and then MainMod of course.

Load this mod up without any other mods installed and start ticking through them all until you find the culprit if you want to solve the problem.
Either way, thanks for your comment.
