    UPDATE Version 2.0

So, after 3 and a half years of no updates, why have I decided to update it. Well, after playing Skyrim over the past few months and falling in love with the game all over again, I've been doing a playthrough and tweaking a few things that I think needed a little tweaking, and also adding a few things that weren't in the previous release.

*NEW* Hearthfires Gardens and Apiary added
The first big change is that Hearthfire garden plants and the Hearthfire bee apiary have been included. These now give you the same randomised harvest amounts as all the others flora/fauna in the world. Overall you'll get around the same total number for your garden plants as you would in vanilla, but the plants or mushrooms are now random amounts to give it a bit more realism. Plants will regrow every 3 days giving you different yields. For the bee apiarys I've added a few more bees and honeycomb you could harvest, and those are random amounts too.

    *NEW* Leveled system added
The second big change was when playing the game again I felt a leveled system would be better when starting from level 1. So basically when you start the game you can only pick 1 to 2 items, and then as you level up and increase in level you start to pick more and more, between 1 to 3, then at higher levels it becomes 1 to 4, then 1 to 5 etc. When your character has reached around level 15-20 you will be picking the same amounts as you were in the previous Better Harvesting version. The idea is your character is becoming better and more experienced in picking good quality flora/fauna for your alchemy needs, so makes sense to become a better harvester as you level up and go through the game. Also, it makes it a little more balanced early on in the game.

*note - if your character is above level 20 you won't notice any difference when updating this mod, it's mainly for starting a new game at level 1 where you'll notice the difference.

    Other changes
Other changes are minor things to some ingredients and leveled lists.
    * Reduced the amounts you get from the larger mountain flower bushes (red, blue, purple and yellow) and juniper trees - it was a little too much.
    * Reduced the % chance of getting nothing for some animal/creature harvestables, from 10% to 5%.
    * Increased coin purse amounts very slightly.
    * Chaurus Hunter Antennae was previously just 1, but that should be between 1-2 (cos it's got 2 antennae!!)
    * Added dead skeletons and dead draugrs you find in dungeons that didn't have the leveled lists for bone meal. This may be a little too much bone meal as the dungeons are full of dead skeletons, dead draugrs and wrapped-up dead draugrs, but like I always say, harvest items when you need to harvest, don't harvest cos it's there.
    * A couple of changes to object bounds, missing keywords and added text to mushrooms. Very minor but I've got Skyrim OCD!

Fully up to date with the unofficial patch changes, but like before you don't need to have the unofficial patch installed to use this mod - but I do recommend it.

Anyway, thanks for the support, hope you enjoy the update and have fun playing. Although I think the amounts you get from harvesting work for me, if you feel any amount needs changing in the mod leave a comment and I'll have a look, or just open the mod up in TES5edit and make the changes you'd like to the leveled lists. And remember, any harvesting mod will unbalance the game in terms of harvesting and alchemy, so its up to you to change how you harvest. Only pick em when you need to pick em. If you want to spam 100's of potions/poisons feel free... but you're the one choosing to do that. Have fun!

People updating from old version, just replace with new version.

Skyrim Special Edition version is also available on Nexus

By request I have added into the optional files a version of the mod where animals/creatures will still drop gold and valuables aswell as meat and fur etc (in the main download you could only get meat and fur etc from a dead animal, gold and valuables were removed).

    Happy harvesting!

    UPDATE Version 1.1

    1) 3 changes were made to the Raw meat (Boar Meat, Hopper Legs and Hopper Meat) from the latest USLEEP 3.0.8 changes.

    2) Spriggens will now only drop 1 taproot rather than a random amount of 1-4. This is because the taproot is the heart or stomach of a Spriggen so should be singular. Spriggen Sap remains unchanged

Thank you for this! Now, I can relax a bit to not gather so much, and I get more of the harder to collect things like saber cat teeth and eyeballs. I finally have enough to use for building things and potions.

I love how I can obtain 2 eyes and fangs from sabre cats and more than 2 or three bear claws. However the game doesnt work for elks and moose. The antlers rarely drop when I hunt them :(

It would be great if this was compatible with AE and CC content...

Haven't got Anniversary edition I'm afraid, but the SE version is apparently compatible - this version is for Oldrim.

Great mod and thank you for the update! I've been looking for a mod just like this, however if I could make a suggestion/request, the only thing I feel this is missing is the ability to loot human hearts and flesh from people and vampires (not the ones they're carrying).

I am using a separate mod for this atm, but I would suggest adding it to yours because it is realistic and would fit together nicely imo.

I think it would be more immersive and I would really appreciate it!

Mod authors get far too much grief from people that mindlessly d/l mods and complain about problems. Doing a large update after such a long time, well deserved, thanks.

This seems to conflict with RND - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75876 - where it changes meat back to stat benefits instead of fullness. For example Horker meat. This puts it to a stat. Taking this out puts it back for RND.

Just make a patch with TES5edit. RND edits the meat records like this mod, so just load both mods in TES5edit and make your own patch by carrying forward the changes from both mods into your own patch.

Might be late but, LOOT disables the plugin. Whenever I used loot I had to reinstall this mod. Idk why :(

I'm trying to track down the culprit mod for a problem I'm having related to alchemy. I'm not saying it this mod, but the problem cropped up after I downloaded a bunch of other mods, yesterday and this was one of them I downloaded. I'll be checking the others as well later, but the problem is thus:

I'm using Ordinator, and after using one of the mods there seems to be a conflict now with it. The Experimenter perk in Ordinator is supposed to unlock all of the alchemical effects by wortcraft. Before using this mod (or some other mod I downloaded yesterday), that worked. Now it only unlocks the second alchemical effect, no matter what my Alchemy skill level is, making it impossible to know the third and fourth effect. Adding perks manually, doesn't solve the issue either.

Would this mod cause that kind of problem?

Unfortunately, it IS this mod. Disabling the mod, immediately caused Experimenter perk to function properly. It is a shame because I did like the rates of resources and materials from all sources with this mod, but losing out on two of four alchemical effects is too great a loss.

EDIT: It also was apparently conflicting with Hunterborn's Monster Hunt mode. It would make all monsters unlootable by the Monster Hunter effect.

I've had a look in TES5edit, and NO records in this mod conflict with Ordinator.

If you want to see what mod conflicts with another mod, use TES5edit. Anyone serious about modding their game should be able to use it, its invaluable and will save you a lot of time trying to find culprits. Also useful for making your own patches if mods do conflict with one another.

Just curious here, if I download the Flora Respawn Fix version of this mod, which of these plugins should load first? LOOT has this mod's plugin loading first, but I initially figured it would be the other way around. I am only making a very uneducated assumption, which is why I'm asking you.
