Okay - I've had a lot of requests going way back about either finishing any of my incomplete mods for Skyrim, or changing permissions etc. For one reason or another I haven't gotten around to this at the time, & then Life Happens & I totally forget. Again. It's about time I just set aside a few minutes to get this done & let folks get on with what they need to do.

... now - how come this took me so long? Well... there's a story there...
The last two mesh mods I was making really did my head in - no matter what I did, they broke. It was a technical glitch which I lacked the ability to fix. I got help - and even got things fixed by others, eventually. But every time I opened these things on my own machines they broke. So, I took a break to clear my head. A few weeks turned into months turned into... etc. etc. etc.
("I used to be a modder like you. Then I took a .nif file to the knee")
Further down the track I'd moved on. In my free time I was doing a host of other fun things & especially spending way more time at the gym than I had which has been awesome. I always meant to get around to tinkering with things again & restarting modding for Skyrim, still had plenty of ideas & so-on. But I realised that had never even finished the game - I'd ended up spending more time trying to get mods to work together and then fix them again and again and again than I ever did actually playing the game. While I enjoy making mods, in this case it felt futile. And by that point in any case I had nothing like the free time I'd had when I started making all this stuff.
I happened to have a free day today - and, finally, I actually remembered to stop by here & do this. For all those who over time have asked me to get this done I am really very sorry!
I won't be modding another Bethesda game. After the amount of work needed to "fix" Skyrim, I just don't have the free time for a repeat. Plus, none of their other titles really grabbed my interest.
I do play other games, and I am (slowly) learning Blender and DAZ3D, so I may in time make things for those and for other games I sometimes play - if I do, it will be under the same name whether here or elsewhere. So keep a look out, it'd be great to hear from y'all! Happy Gaming!

I really miss this mod. I just recently tried to manually install it into SE...but the bodies went missing (and i'm using CBBE). Same with the Brentons and Nords..I really do hope they come to SE one day <3. I really loved them while playing in Oldrim.
Yeah, I really miss this... I recently got the Special Edition and there just isn't anything like these available for it, while there are plenty of great body mods and body textures... Still stuck using the old default facial presets and textures with them... I would soooo love to see these and his other presets ported over to SE.
really love your work, i have sent in two pics of my recent char. Any chance this mod works in SE. OK i just read your working on it, sorry. I have been getting alot of good comments on my latest pics and its all thanks to your mod.
Hey all, I'm one of the ones who can't get the mod to run, and I am hoping someone can offer me some help. So I use MO, but whenever I try to install either version of this mod I get the following error:
[C] failed to parse esp file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods\BLOOD and SAND - Imperial and Redguard Presets by FastestDog - FULLY SEVENBASE 7B UNPB CBBE RACEMENU EC...
I have tried to load the mod up in TES5Edit to check for conflicts (as per suggested from someone else in the comments) but TES5Edit was never able to finish loading it.
I have also tried to install this mod via manual install and NMM, but neither seem to do anything. The mod will say it is installed, but there is no change to the presets for Redguards or Imperials.
Basically I'm not sure what to try next, or what I might be doing wrong. If anyone could offer some insight it would be much appreciated!
Good to see your still around, are you planning to move your work over to se? I still have all your earlier presets and the companions overhaul installed and will miss them when I finally switch over.

Is this mod compatible with Race Menu mod? I'm using an optional file that disables facegencache.
cjc75 wrote: I have his other Mod, Children of Skyrim and Bretonnia, and they work just fine with Race Menu and they look absolutely gorgeous and beautiful.
But this one I can't get it to do a thing...
The face presets are still only showing me the old default ones, and half the time when I try to load my Imperial character, the game crashes to desktop... and sometimes when moving the preset slider on Race Menu, it causes the entire body to just vanish and only the head remains.
Something funky with this one...
Mind, I was absolutely ecstatic to see this was finally available after having taken a long break from playing Skyrim.Started playing again a couple weeks ago and decided to update some of my outdated Mods and check to see if some of my favored modders had anything new released.
Imagine my surprise to see Blood and Sand released with Imperial and Redguard presets!I downloaded and installed immediately, ran LOOT to update my load order... cause I do that with EVERY new mod... and then loaded the game...
..and crashed to desktop as soon as I tried to load my Imperial.
Tried again, loaded my NORD first and she loaded fine, so then loaded to my Imperial and she loaded, opened Race Menu and...
No new presets were added, and her body disappeared when I tried to move the preset slider
cjc75 wrote: I just dont understand why I cant get this to work... been trying for the past few hours now
FastestDog's other mods, and I have ALL of them....
Children of Skyrim Bretonnia All his Armor Mods...
They all work just fine without any problems.
But this one, its as though it just doesn't exist... neither the Imperial Presets, nor the Redguard Presets show up on RaceMenu, and I tried starting a new game and just making a completely new character as well... and when it came time to create the character during the intro, I only had the old default presets available...
Also, yes I'm sure the plugin is activated, though LOOT keeps it at the very bottom of my load order...
I'm desperate to get this to work...
I tried everything I could think of today. Removed every Mod that I have that changes/alters character appearance... because I remember I had a similar problem with Children of Skyrim, and found out it was a specific mod that added natural hair colors, that stopped some of CoS' presets from showing up.
So I started removing all of my character appearance mods, one by one... and testing to see if this would work... and none of them were the culprit.
So now I am wondering if it is at all possible.... I have a bunch of standalone Followers added, could a Follower like that, prevent this from working? I dont have any that are Redguard or Imperial, but I know all the modders who make Followers, often use items from others Mods. Could one of them have used a hair style, for example, from a hair mod thats not compatible with this?
For now, I am just completely stumped... and saddened that I have to uninstall this and can't use it.
Have you tried moving the mod up in your load order? - I'd place it just below COS, or Bretonia.
That places it pretty high up in the Load Order... but yes I tried it just now.... but why does LOOT force it to the very bottom of the list? I'll have to go and move it now, everytime I change/update plugins and run LOOT...
But, anyway, I... think. It might be working.
I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I am now getting some presets other then the standard default ones, but they don't look anything at all like the Imperial or the Redguard ones in the pictures above. In fact, even though I seem to be getting different Imperial and Redguard presets now... it seems as though the faces in the pictures above, just don't exist.
I think I may have found part of that problem though... a long time ago I attempted to use Racemenu to "sculpt" one of my Follower's faces, onto my Imperial... with somewhat disastrous results, as it didn't really turn out too well since the Followers face whom I was trying to copy, was a Nord and not an Imperial, so I played around with the sliders to get something half way decent... still wasn't ever perfect...
I just used the "Clear Sculpt" option which reset the faces to their default appearance; but they still... didn't quite look the same as whats pictured. I think the foreheads, eyes and eyebrows are a very close match but the lower half of the face, especially the lips... just the facial curves alone... don't look anything like the pictures.
I think it might have something to do with the face textures that I'm using.I'm using HelloSanta's "SG Female Textures" for my body, and I think I have their facial textures installed too.. So I tried downloading a couple facial textures that FastestDog noted in his description that he's using... but I still can't get the chins or lips to come anywhere close to whats in the pictures... so I've just spent the past day playing with the sliders and I think I've got something pretty decent looking now for my Imperial.
The Redguard presets though are still pretty funky. They look better then the default ones, but they also still don't like anything close to the pictures above.
had a similar problem were half the presets would not appear, with a lot of help from the mod author we tracked it down to a follower appearance mod that made a specific change that I can't remember, any how removing the mod fixed it instantly. try loading all your appearance mods up in tes5 edit and check for mod conflicts, Your textures are not the problem, I have used SG and Laylenda textures with no issue, actually both improved the tint masks(make up) making the presets look even better, none changed the shape from the photos

Different normal maps (included with full texture sets) will have a lot to do with variability of appearance on a head sculpt. Also, Loot is an excellent tool, but not perfect. Try positioning the presets in positions in and around FD's other mods - it should work.
