can someone explain to me how to get rid of my wings, everytime i try to use the cure mutagen, it does nothing, this is very frustrating as i really dont wanna use real flying ever again as it has too many bugs
I never thought there would be a mod made to improve Real Flying. This is a surprise! I just never thought to look until now. I love Real Flying so much that I have had no problem ignoring all of the glitches. I hope this can be used with my old game saves without any problems. I like to break them out of storage and play them occasionally, reliving that character's story line. I have about 18 character save games and many of them still have their wings attached. So... there is one thing I'm wondering about?... would it be necessary to remove my character's wings before installing this mod? I guess I'll just take the plunge into installing this mod, because it looks like I wont get an answer to my question anyway. I'll make a reply here of my results. I still play SLE because of all the saved character creations I worked so hard on to make.
I didn't remove the wings on any of my character saves and this mod loaded fine without a hitch. The flying looks a lot better, and no weird animation glitches as of yet. I have to get use to the new controls configuration, but I think it is a lot better.

Had to redo my Skyrim install after some corrupted files, and got everything working. But now my flying is silent. No sound while flapping wings, and often no wind noise while flying (which only occurs with Edda and not the original Real Flying, so it makes me suspect the problem is with this mod or something else that could be interfering, even after setting Edda as last in the load order). Anyone had this problem and found a way to solved it? :/
EDIT: After a bit of testing, I found that enabling both Real Flying and Edda in the mod list brings back the flapping wing sound back, but not the rushing wind when flying. Which is odd, as before I only needed Edda enabled for everything to work. I may keep playing with both mods enabled (I didn't really care much for the constant rushing wind sound) but not sure if that will screw things up down the road. (and know well not to make the mutagen from the Real Flying mod).
I have a slight problem with edda though, in which it lets me fly and everything works as intended, but i just cant get the wings to show. After jumping i can glide and fly and get the right stance, but there are no wings showing. If i go ahead and use the mutagen potion of the original real flying, i get the wings, but of course things get glitchy from there on (like getting wings and flying when jumping with weapons drawn and such things), so that is not really an option either. Functionally i could go on without the wings, but it looks stupid, so i would hope this could be fixed. Also i have no idea why this is. I used console commands to kill 2 dragons just for a test when starting a new game, and everything worked, i got the wings and everything. But when i got to the my second dragon in the real playthrough, no wings, sad me. I have not installed any new mods after the test, and de- and reinstalling real flight and edda didn't help either.
Any help would be really appreciated. Thx for reading^^
Yeah i spent some hours troubleshooting already, dont know what to do anymore really. I hoped you had some tips for me i hadn't thought of yet^^ thx for reply nonetheless
Edit: YAY i got it! So for everyone that gets similar problems, removing and then adding the "Winged" ability via console solved the problem for me, at least for now. Im so happy right now
Sorry to necro this, but how what are the console commands to remove and re-add the winged ability? I've been trying to find the ID numbers without success. :/
Hey, Enai, Just curious, since SKSE64 is out and Real Flying has been ported to SE by dearfl, do you have any plans to port this? This has been a must in my Oldrim load order for years, and I'd love to have it in SE as well.
Whatever you decide, thank you for the amazing work you've done for this community!
You can port it yourself fairly easily; the process for porting mods is public.
But either Real Flying fixed its issues, in which case this mod is unlikely to still be compatible; or it didn't fix anything, in which case flying is still so janky as to be pointless. I tried to get the bugs out of Real Flying but can't possibly catch them all without rewriting Real Flying (which I don't have permission to do). Why use broken mods? :/
Hey. I'm sorry to bother but I'm facing an issue which seems to be related to this addon itself and not the original Real Flying, so I thought I'd ask in case you have any idea what's happening. Upon obtaining a second dragon soul, flight is unlocked but the wings are invisible, or maybe not there at all. Everything related to flying seems to work perfectly, it's just that the wings themselves are nowhere to be seen.
To narrow down the source of the issue, I tried loading another save (thinking that it had something to do with the custom race I was using). This save had a lot of collected dragon souls, and the wings immediately sprouted as they should have upon finishing loading.
A little more fiddling and I found the problem is solved when I use the console to remove the spell ED_FlightAbility_Spell_Ab and then add it back. Looking at the spell, it doesn't feel like it makes any sense that it would allow me to fly but not give me the wings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this magic effect is pretty much the core of this flight system, isn't it? The very fact I'm able to fly at all is proof it's working without problems. Even worse, the wings are a non-conditional part of it, set as its Hit Effect Art... Doesn't this mean that if your flight system is enabled and working, it should necessarily be true that the wings should be visible as well?
To make matters worse, drinking a mutagen from the original Real Flying makes me instantly sprout wings. No need for a redo or anything, they just appear straight out. Not to mention loading that one save made your wings appear straight out, too. This is a very convoluted situation, to say the least.
------------
EDIT: Alright, I tried everything I could think of. This is what I know for sure: the ONLY characters this issue happens on are ones that go through helgen's intro (maybe it's going through the racemenu that causes this issue?). I checked by loading very old automatic saves which happen right before character creation in helgen, then running the intro until we came out of helgen. And on all of them, the wings didn't appear either. But in the save file right after it, one which went through helgen's intro without this mod and who had barely made it to bleak falls barrow, the wings appeared with no issue whatsoever.
That is it for the good news. The bad news is I altered everything besides the scripts in ED_FlightAbility_Effect_Ab to match what anton had in his wings magic effect, even going as far as adding a duration to ED_FlightAbility_Spell_Ab so it'd match the "original" perfectly. But it still didn't work. I can only imagine something in his script is doing something, though I'll have to check another day.
Oh yes, I know how you've set your system up. These repeated issues were all observed after getting "dragon Souls Collected" up to 2, either by killing dragons or by using modpcms "dragon souls collected" 2.
There's no prerequisite for the first stage of flight other than that, right? And even if there was, judging by what I saw yesterday I can't see why it'd be giving me flight but not wings as well.
I understand that logically this is an issue on my end. Otherwise you'd be swamped with people that started their games and didn't have their wings when they unlocked flight. It's just that I really, really can't even begin to imagine how anything would cause an issue like this. What could possibly be conflicting in such a convoluted way that it prevents your mod from showing the wings but lets the entirety of the flight system work... but if you just remove then re-add that very same flight system spell then it shows the wings as intended even though nothing really changed?
I'll try and start a new mod profile with the minimum mod requirements and work my way up, to see if I can at least track down the responsible mod.
This took a while, but I was able to thoroughly test out everything. And it seems that despite what I believed, it's not an issue on my end. These are the steps I took, in detail in case someone wants to reproduce them (SKSE Preloader, Safety Load, Crash Fixes and OneTweak are not necessary, and I have tested all of my findings without them as well, so if you don't want to run them feel free to ignore those):
1. Running a fully updated Skyrim, latest SKSE and using the latest updates on all mods, I set up a new Mod Organizer profile with nothing but these mods enabled, in this order:
-SKSE Preloader (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795) -Safety Load (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465) -Crash Fixes (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725) -OneTweak (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40706) -FNIS, without creature addon (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11811) -Real Flying (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64769) -Edda - Addon for Real Flying
Load order: Skyrim.esm Update.esm Dawnguard.esm Hearthfires.esm Dragonborn.esm FNIS.esp Real Flying.esp Edda - Immersive Real Flying.esp
2. Deleted the "overwrite" folder in Mod Organizer root folder, to ensure there were no leftover files messing things up.
3. Ran GenerateFNISforUsers.exe through Mod Organizer. Pressed "Update FNIS Behavior" without checking any patches.
4. Started SKSE Skyrim through Mod Organizer, then started a fresh new game, then created a character as usual.
5. Entered Hadvar's path, and after he cut my bindings I used the console command modpcms "dragon souls collected" 100 . This would allow me to fly in inside cells and test straight away whether things were in working order.
------
I repeated this process for several different characters, though starting a fresh new game didn't seem to matter; as long as you loaded the automatic save right before you create your character then the results would be the same as starting a fresh new game.
Following these steps, you'll be able to arrive at the exact same scenario I'm at. These are my findings:
-On arriving at the race menu, you're set as a Nord, like always. As long as you don't switch out of being a Nord, upon completing step 5 you will sprout wings as intended. -If you switch out of the Nord race, upon completing step 5 you won't gain your wings. Even if you switch back to being a Nord after clicking another race, you won't get wings anyway. -Changing sex didn't affect whether or not you got wings, as long as you didn't switch out from Nord race. -Regardless of if you get wings or not, the flight system works as it should. -Sometimes, when testing a Nord who had successfully gotten wings, the entire character model would turn invisible upon jumping or landing. Entering and exiting 1st person camera mode would fix this issue, as did jumping once more (though sometimes they would turn invisible once more upon landing from that jump).
Following all that testing I once again loaded my default MO profile, ran FNIS, and tried to start a new game. And surely enough, not switching from the Nord race at character creation would get me wings upon unlocking flight.
That's all I've got for now. Still haven't looked into Anton0028's Real Flying script to see if he had something to account for this oddity, or if the fact his wings just appear without issue when you drink the potion is the result of some pact with the devil. Regardless, I hope this grunt work can be of some use to you EnaiSiaion.
http://i.imgur.com/7YbkiH1.jpg I'm afraid it doesn't, on this image I had all necessary prerequisites fulfilled. The wings simply do not appear.
http://i.imgur.com/oo33Nfh.jpg And if Edda hides your wings indoors, does this mean this is unexpected behavior? Mind you, I'm at over 20 dragon souls in this image, which allows for indoors flight.
This is the same issue a lot of people have talked about already (navarre00 and Kastellan999 at least, from recent posts), I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it. We know how to trigger it already, so now I'm trying to look for the cause and a fix.
Hey Susaphone, thank you very much for your post. Unfortunately I had already tried disabling Real Flying.esp a while ago and it didn't solve the issue. I happened to look into that esp yesterday and nothing there could conflict with Edda, either... It's a shame.
I do have some good news, though. The issue where the entire character would turn invisible sometimes was caused due to using an optional file from Anton0028's Real Flying, "Wings invisible while folded". It seems like the changes that optional file makes don't play well with Edda, and it ended up causing some screwy behavior. Removing it did nothing to help with the main issue of invisible wings, though.
Enai, you might want to update the main page to let people know not to use that optional file.
I'm playing as an Argonian and I have the exact same problem with wings not appearing but still being able to fly. How do you remove the spell with the console? I tried "player.removespell ED_FlightAbility_Spell_Ab" but it said that it is not found.
I'm not too far into another replay of the game, having just killed the dragon in Kynesgrove, so if all else fails I can start yet again without Edda and maybe activate it after leaving Riverwood, if that is what it takes to get it working.
From Real Flying all you need is the plugin in the SKSE folder and the behaviors (for FNIS), then you can jack the animated fairy wing assets and drop them in, and edit edda's esp where it looks for the dragonwing nif to point to the fairy wing one.
is there a way to remove notification box everytime you transform to werewolf or vampire lord ps: sorry, i post without scroll down and take time to read anything

This mod is no longer supported due to the decline of classic Skyrim and inability to fix issues related to Real Flying animations.
