Thanks for this. Some of these mods ARE great and almost feel official, but then the bad writing snaps you back and reminds you it's a fan work. I don't really understand how someone can get everything else right and not notice they have bad punctuation or spelling, but glad you are doing something about it.

Well in respect of the talented MannyGT, I believe he isn't a native English speaker he has had help with some of the typos as he described.. but I think the new update has some slight differentials that just need tweaking especially as he has said he has sadly retired from the modding scene of Skyrim.

That's too bad as Gray Cowl is quite good, even down to the new voice acting. Hmm, I'm still noticing some errors, but not sure if they were missed or mod hasn't activated correctly.

Thank you very much for this patch Maybe you know, I'm Italian and also I'm retired from modding.

      Regards.

Hi - you're still noticing errors as this is version 0.1 of a very much work-in-progress mod. I'm still making it as I play through the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, fixing typos as I spot them. If people would be kind enough to report any typos they find, I'll be sure to fix them in the next update And hey mannygt, thanks for making such a spectacular mod, and for being so gracious about letting other people patch it!

Treacleman, the way you're doing it will ensure you would have to play through the mod several times over, and possibly still not find all the typos... I suggest you open the mod up in xEDIT and go through every single quest and other records to do a compare and replace in a patch file. I'm sure you know how to "deep copy as override into...", so that's what you would do for each record that you wish to resolve. This way, it is systematic and you will get everything in the first go.

You're absolutely right, that is the most logical way to do it. I'm just a player first, modder second, and I haven't fully played through everything Gray Cowl has to offer yet - hence my current strategy. Soon as I've finished it though, I'll definitely comb through it systematically as you suggest.

Hey, just stopping by to ask a quick question...

For some reason you omitted some LCSR data from your patch for Location records. Was this intentional? See here.

I'm guessing you did these edits in the CK, which may have caused this?

Oooh, interesting, well spotted! That was totally unintentional - I'll make sure it gets fixed in the next patch.

Awesome. For future patches, you may find it easier to copy an entire record in xEdit (deep copy as override into...) and just make changes in your patch file. It will be identical to its source. Stuff you don't need to change, leave it as is. Once you're done with that entire Record (let's say "Location" or "Dialogue) simply right-click on your patch file, "Apply filter for Cleaning" and then "Remove identical to Master" and it will remove all the duplicates (that you haven't touched). This way you won't have to worry if you accidentally left something out, possibly breaking the mod you were trying to patch in the process. Goodluck, and thanks for your efforts!

Hello, I just want to say thanks for making this patch. I don't realize there was a typo in that mod though lol

Oh yeah, I hope you would like to make patch for TES Legendary Arena mod, if notice there was typo on the map marker for NorthKeep

Awesome, I wanted to do this myself, but you beat me to it. Kudos to you.

I'm also thinking about doing this for Legacy of the Dragonborn. It has some nasty typos. But unfortunately, I have a shortage of time these days, so I won't be able to do it soon. So, if you want to do it, feel free to do so.

I have been unable to test this on any other machines than my own, so make sure you back up any saves before installing, and please let me know if it causes any problems (though since all it should do is edit a few text files, I don't really see how it could.)

Punctuate after the parenthetical, yo. ;P

Teasing aside, you're doing the Lord's Work here. I'd never begrudge an ESL author for superfluous mistakes in their copy, but hot damn this is a welcome addition. Thank you.

Oh, the irony - it's fixed now :p glad to be of service!
