I tried a few DOF mods for ENB, but this one was by far my favourite. It looks great, its not distracting, and I only lost 1 fps at most. Thumbs'd up!
And because I'm OCD with mods: I also lowered the RadiusScaleMultiplier a bit in the in-game ENB menu to make focus shifts less jumpy while running through dense areas. Adjusting the FadeTime under Depth of Field can also help. (I settled on .07 for that one; Its slightly faster to make long distance DOF roll-in seem more fluid).
Imho this mod is of little, if any, use without a custom enbeffectprepass.fx.ini file included. In fact I believe the ini file to be more important than the actual effect shader.
The enbeffectprepass.fx.ini wouldn't change anything, I have tested enbeffectprepass.fx files from other mods before. The .fx file changes the deph of field, not the ini.
lol you're so totally wrong I edit the ini all the time, on the fly, depending on present fov and other factors. Of course it controls the effect, why else would it be there?
My only worry is that using a DOF mod will make me dizzy and a bit nauseous and also short sighted. Does it refocus on what your looking at, ie distance is focused...but when i look at soemthing close, distance is blurry etc?
i guess i will answer my own questions once i try it..hehe
I love how pics look with DOF but actually live action with it makes me a tad bit nervous.
This looks impressionistic, not natural or "eyefriendly". The human eye and brain doesn't perceive this way. It may still have value for those who want that impressionism, but it's not realistic. Please don't misleadingly claim that it is.
Yeah please do more realistic stuff in a virtual fantasy game. There was this Realistic Water mod. But the water did not feel wet on my screen in any way. Damn you, misleading titles, damn you!
