Hey there, I was wondering if you'd be willing to pick up a mod request or advise me on how to make it. I've been wanting a mod which makes the shield hitbox catch arrows even when an NPC or PC is not blocking with it. Currently, arrows go straight through and hit the person behind, unless they are actively blocking. If this isn't possible, then a mod to make NPCs block when being shot at. I've got extensive experience with patching in xEdit, but I don't know where to even begin on a mod like this.
This mod does not appear in the MCM menu, all the requirements for the mod are already pre-installed because most other mods need the same requirements.
Any news on progress yet? I can make do with existing mods in SE that deflect arrows for now, but this is the first mod I've seen that allows you to deflect other things back at the attacker. Figured I would just check back in since I apparently missed this in my first LE go-around and to express some interest in the future SE version.
can I block the arrow (or spell) with 1handed sword without shield? I tried to block the arrow after I got perk to blocking arrow, but I can't block any arrow. I think I installed it correctly because I saw my follower did block the arrow with 2handed sword.
So any news on the conversion to SSE yet? Not trying to rush you, just curious if there are issues. I know sometimes there are problems converting to SSE and the whole mod needs to be re-written. I wish I could offer some help, but I have enough issues with simple companion conversions these days.
I don't really plan on playing a new game for a couple of months when I finish buying the parts for and building my new computer, so I'm in no rush. I'll just keep wasting my day looking for it on the SSE page. That's the problem with mods. There's always ONE more out there you didn't know you needed until you see it.
I'm kind of excited you are porting this to SSE, as it seems much easier to use and in-depth than similar mods available. I see the Release time: soon (tm) and am generally not one to rush things because I know how difficult modding can be, but any ideas of when "soon" actually is? I'm cleaning up my modlist and replacing certain mods with alternatives before I start a new game, and would like to include this in my rotation for SSE this time around.
I'm going to assume that the mod needs to be completely rewritten for SSE (like Quick Loot RE) so I'm willing to give him the time. Modding is a PITA anyways, so kudos to the author for even hinting at an SSE release. I'll wait patiently. In the meantime I'll just try to find a creative release for my Skyrim withdrawals.

Doesn't run on followers (or any other NPC), though.
