I have had zero success with Alone - Empty Skyrim and Empty Skyrim. Both give me an endless splash screen. I have console command coc whiterun with Empty Skyrim, but the game crashes shortly after every single time. So my question is, should I even bother with this mod? Or will it produce the same problems I've had with the previous two?

All of these alone/empty style mods will not work with USLEEP.

Running Skyrim without USLEEP is fine, its not going to kill the game and there are hundreds of high quality mods that run without it.

    Very interesting!
I'm pretty new in Skyrim but even with all STEP mods I found it boring after just some hours. But it's beautilful... and so removing all the boring stuff to put in the playground just what we like is a great thing. I was planning to do it myself but yeah, obviously someone done it before! Many thanks.

      Glad you like it.
Feel free to make improvements. I consider this a communal mod.
I agree with you on Skyrim being boring. I think that there are a few of us that find exploring on our own terms, free of in game questing, to be more interesting.

I get that with the huge land mass mod World of Rudra. Cities have generic NPCS but barely any quests were done as it was abandoned but the world is HUGE. An explorers paradise.

I hope you're still around on the nexus to see this question. What game are you talking about in the description? I'm very interested

      Kenshi
There is a Nexus for it, too.
Do a lot of research on it before you buy.
It's not for everyone but if you like what you see, be prepared for challenge and consequences in a way you;ll never experience with a TES game

    does this mod actually work?

I'm seeing a lot of back-and-forth on how it works and I see the author has abandoned the mod, but sounds like he left it in a playable state.

What are the issues aside from using USLEEP?

What causes floating mountains/terrain and how can you fix it?

This seems to be the only mod of its kind, how does it work since its last update earlier this year?

    Hey everyone!
I've been playing regular Skyrim for quite some time.
I just began a game with this mod and now have a better idea of what I want to do.
My plan is to simply remove all cities, except for Winterhold.
The original author removed cities by deleting or disabling the textures within the ck.
It works fine until you add a mod that uses those meshes. They won't appear in the mod.
I want to delete the visible meshes in game. That should allow mods to function.
I'm not going to add any ruins.
My goal, now, is to create a blank slate that allows you, to move, add, create whatever you want.
I will have an extensive list of recommended mods to create the experience that I have, but they won't be required.
When I'm done, I will release it as a different mod.
I will leave a link to the new one here.
Seeing that others are still using this has motivated me to keep moving foreward.
    Thank you, all!!

Hello moxica, thank you for this! I'm interested in your new mod and have a few questions. Are you fully deleting everything in the CK or just disabling them and possibly moving them somewhere else? What exactly is all being removed? NPCs? Items? Towns/buildings? Will areas with removed objects be fully navmeshed? And will this new mod use USLEEP as a base? (USLEEP wont updated after the next release so having to worry about supporting multiple patch versions wouldn't be a problem I think). Also if you have any ways you are safely removing things that aren't public knowledge I would greatly appreciate any advice you might have as this project is of great interest to me...thank you for taking the time to read this. If there is any way I can help just let me know.

Hello sadjanjenkins, I'm just deleting whatever is visible in the game, textures and meshes.
Basically, all I'm doing is going into the CK and simply deleting what I see that I don't want, in the game world. Everything will still be in the CK in their original form.
This mod is being made with either users with CK knowledge and/or Jaxonz Positioner knowledge.
My goal is to make a Skyrim that has few or no structures.
Then, I would like to make the former inhabited areas look like wilderness so i would have to add "land" to cover the ground where structures used to be.
Usleep doesn't work as a base because the purpose of Usleep is to fix things in the game like quests and textures that arent in the right spots, as well as other things.
Since this mod removes things that Usleep fixes, Usleep doesn't allow the game to start because it's looking for things to fo fix that aren't there.
So you get permanet load screen.
I'm deleting quest activator boxes because theres no need for them.
As far as NPC's go, there are other mods that allow users to remove whatever they want. Since all I'm doing is creating and empty landscape for others to build whatever they want on, I won't be removing any NPC's. Most of them will go away, anyway because they are in cities, towns...
With those gone, the NPC's go away as well.
I'm leaving bandit camps and things like that for the ruins.
If someone wants bandits gone, there's a mod for that. Same thing with animals.

All that being said, my CK has just started to act very strange and I'm going to have to suspend work on this mod for the time being.
I will try to resolve this as soon as I can because I really want to make a hermit monk in a very difficult world.
He/She will have to grow their own food and Frostfall is going to be a big part of this play. No humans at all. Only animals, and all of them afraid of humans. Possibly no animals at all except for the ones from mods and, again, all of them afraid of man. If there is a mod that removes all weapons then I'll add that one to this play.
Deep survival in an extremely lethal world due to cold and starvation.
I need to finish this in order to do it, so I'll be trying to fix my Skyrim install in order to resume work.
      Sorry bout this.

Hey, I greatly appreciate what you're doing. I'm also wondering if there's any update on continuation of this new mod? After playing a lot of Far Cry Primal, I've really wanted to bring something like into skyrim. Except with all of skyrim's amazing survival mods. Something like a hardcore survival play-through with perhaps a small tribe of the first inhabitants of the land

I'm going to go about this a different way.
I'm going to use the original mod, without ruin, as a base.
I just want to make a land with no major cities, while leaving Winterhold intact.
I want to leave the integrity of the original mod as is.
Rather than fill all the holes in what used to be roads, I'm going to recommend the "Real Wild Roads" mod possibly making it a soft requirement.
It wipes out roads entirely and adds a much better set of textures than I planed.
I have been having a tremendous amount of problems with MO2 but I have most of it resolved.
I'll begin working on this in the near future.
There are still a few things to hammer out so that it will be compatible with other mods that add homes and shops.

The big thing to keep in mind is that I'm going to release it as a different mod. Still an add-on but not in this file.
I will notify when that happens.

      Thank you voajus!
I HIGHLY recommend The Real Wild-No Roads.
It not only removes much of the cobblestone roads, it alters the landscape in such a way that you will have to boulder-hop and figure out alternate paths across the world.
Many of the permanent bridges in vanilla have been replaced with semi-permanent ones.
This mods adds far more than I have!!

your welcome. I use real wild-no roads in one of my mod set ups that made skyrim into a medieval fantasy version of fallout dust.

    Phew!
Slow going but I'm learning more as I keep at it.
I thought the cities would be the slow part but it's deleting miles and miles of road...
    UGH!
