    Is it just me or the beast subspecies are all criminals or (figurative) monsters? Damn son this metaficticious racism is getting outta hand

      Shadowscales aren't criminals technically. They're royally sanctioned assassins, and are oftentimes used by the rulers and tribes of Black Marsh to silence particular individuals. Many are given to the Dark Brotherhood which is a criminal sect, which barely has a presence in Black Marsh outside those who work with the Shadowscales to train assassins, but the organization from which they come from is perfectly legal.

    Hi! I just found this mod and I think it is awesome someone is bringing light to these lesser-known groups and sub-species!

    I would love to see a port to SSE, but thankfully it still works pretty fine so far. If I could get into modding, I might try to make an add-on that makes a Wintersun Compatibility to give these races unique beginning religions based on their culture (Like the Skaal have the option to worship the All-Maker from the beginning, Wood Orcs could worship Jephre, Renrijra Krin can have Baan Daar and Mehrunes Dagon etc.), with permissions and credit where due of course.

    As for an idea for the Renrijra Krin, what about they are part of the Bandit Faction? Since they are basically Elsweyr's version of Bandits, so they could probably fit right in (Perhaps togglable for extra customization)?
    Also, if the Skaal are in true harmony with Nature, could they have a power that pacifies all animals (Including Spriggans?) in the area? I know three Shouts effectively do that though...

    Does this work with becoming a vampire? Because with Custom Races, when ever I become a Vampire, I not only have a deformed face, I also do not have vampire eyes. I have to resort to playing the vanilla race because Custom Races doesn't seem to support vampirism. So I'm wondering if this does?

      Each lore-friendly custom race also has a vampire counterpart race. However, I did use Custom Races as the framework. Vampires are scary, so I've never tried it. If you do, let me know how it works! There are a few alternate start mods (Live Another Life, Skyrim Unbound) which allow you to start as a vampire to test.

    Hello, would you mind if I ask you how to make this mod compatible with ECE? I'm afraid I don't know how to register the custom races here to make them work with the mod.

      I've never used ECE, so I can't help you with that. :-( Perhaps someone on the ECE mod page has a guide to adding custom races.

    Hello, I would like to know how to make this mod fully compatible with the original Custom Races mod? Is it just CustomNord/CustomNordVampire that need new ID or is it all of the new races?

      Hi FerranTrinity. The original Custom Races mod and Lore Friendly Custom Races are compatible in the sense that you can load both, select any of the races, and play with their powers and appearance. The IDs are unique. However, the two mods share mesh and texture folders. So if your Ashlander had custom tattoos, those would also show on CustomDarkElfRace. Reassigning meshes and textures to make the mod fully independent would be a LOT of work. Since you can only play one character at a time, a workaround would be to copy the mesh/texture folders and have different sets for your characters. HTH!

    Is there a way to make these custom races to have vampire eyes, more specifically the Shadowscale race? I have a mod that makes beast races and orcs have vampire eyes but it only works for the vanilla races, even the human and elven custom races don't have vampire eyes.

      Found the problem, and it's an easy fix--both sexes were assigned skeleton_female.nif. I'll have an update up shortly--there are a few other little things I'd like to add while I have the .esp open in Creation Kit. You should be able to update an existing save with no problems.

    Hai there neat mod. I was looking for a neat alternative to Imperious with minor powers and stuff and this is a great fit for me. I wanted to also be able to use a custom mouth texture with this but it seems like there isn't a path for it in the folder. Is there a way I can make one or maybe one could be added? Thanks in advance~

      Any textures not included in the folder should use vanilla assets. Try copying your desired mouth texture into the folder with your target race. Be aware that some custom textures also require a custom mesh. HTH.

      Well it didn't work. Probably have to create a new headpart or something all together so as not to change other races. Thanks though~

    Looking forward to seeing this in SSE. I really enjoy the sound of the Nibhnese (is that how you spell it?). Anyway keep up the great work.

      I'm not planning to move it to SE myself, but since it's released under a cathedral license, feel free to port it yourself! No further permissions needed.

      what all would go into porting this, idk much of anything about modding but i love this mod so much i would be willing to try

      Go for it! It's released under a Cathedral license, so feel free to port it, expand it, improve it, anything. Good luck with your mod! :-)

      Porting is super easy, takes a couple minutes at most, in a majority of cases. Just use the SSE NIF Optimizer and save in the new CK. If there are any BSA's, extract them and delete the BSA, then use the optimizer. If you find a crash in the game when encountering content from a converted mod after doing these steps, it is most likely just a DDS file in an improper format that needs to be resaved into proper DXT or BC7 formats.

      Seeing as how RaceCompatability is on SE, I see no reason why this mod won't work 100%, good luck
