I can confirm this freeze in my game. Drove me crazy trying to debug until I found this post. If this doesn't cause a freeze on the author's setup, maybe it conflicts with another mod-added .dll. hmm, i'm using version 1.0, i'll update to 3.0 and get back to you.
I have over 300 mods (many using SKSE) and this one makes Skyrim hang at a certain point during the intro. This instant I remove only this mod, Skyrim intro is back to normal. When you climb up the tower after Alduin arrives in Helgen, the instant he pops his head in the tower and begins to breathe his fire is when Skyrim hangs.
Not sure as I cannot get past that point. What I can do over the next few days is play the intro without it and then add the DLL back in and see what happens.
You don't need to finish the first quest to cast spells. You can bring up console and coc qasmoke in the main menu before starting new game or load save, then use player.addspell 12fd0, player.addspell 45f9c and player.addspell 45f9d to get firebolt, ice storm and chain lightning.
Cool trick. Unfortunately, the spells freeze Skyrim. I can cast these without the projrangefix.dll file no problem. In one attempt, I was able to get one spell off but it kind of stuttered for a second and the next cast was a lock up. Maybe I have too many mods using SKSE.
What is the version of your game? If possible, you could disassemble your game's memory around virtual address 0x7A48DA with a debugger such as windbg, gdb or cheat engine.
How do I properly install this with mod organizer? There is a data folder that I'm assuming needs to be installed but also a src folder that contains the unneeded f***.h file.
Should I just install the data folder and ignore the src folder?

anytime i launched firebolt it froze, was not a memory issue
well i love the concept anyway, no hating on you
edit: same problem with 3.0
edit: I think I've found an error. Forgot a pair of parentheses. Please download the update to see if it's fixed.
Skyrim Legendary 1.9.32.0.8. I am running ENB (with the ENBOOST Memory function enabled). SKSE 1.7.3 with Sheson's memory tweak (SKSE.ini).
