Hello. If I want to use just this mod, not the original, I should only install the meshes and textures from the original mod and this plugin, rigfht? What about the sound folder?
Also, the original mod doesn't contain any script. Does that mean this mod is script free?
Install the original mod in it's entirety, then load this mod after it. This mod only contains a file named "Enhanced Magicka Saber.esp, make sure it loads after the "Magicka Saber.esp" from the orginial mod.
You do not need the .esp from the original magicka Saber mod, only the meshes and textures.
Hey Saipoon, I love your mod, and I think it has superior visuals and sounds to the original Magicka Saber mod, but I've discovered that it does not work well with the Violens mod. There isn't any conflict, but because your Magicka Sabers only do 3 points of actual weapon damage and a large amount of other damage (fire, shock, frost etc.), kill moves are very rarely triggered. It took me 5 runs through the beginning Helgen dungeon before I was able to actually trigger a kill move with your sabers.
As I said in a post below, I love the fact that your Magicka Sabers make real looking sparks when you strike stone with them, and I think having different levels of sabers that do increasing damage is also a great idea so you can have a better weapon later in the game without having to give up the Magicka Saber (what Jedi is going to give up his saber for a daedric sword). What would be great to make this work with Violens and other kill move mods, would be to make another set of saber exactly like the first, but instead of having them do 3 points of weapon damage + 40 points of shock damage with a chance to disarm, have them do 40 points of weapon damage with a change to disarm and leave off the extra shock damage (but still have the electrical visual effect if possible). This would allow for three levels of sabers (normal, commander and sage) that do increasing damage, and will trigger kill moves everytime you kill your opponent. Anyway, just an observation and suggestion. Keep up the good work!
I've been looking for the killcam alternative way for my magicka saber because of its low weapon damage, maybe you could make the killcam probability percentage to 100%
I have the killcam percentage to 100%. I think the issue is that the killcam is only triggered when the creature is killed by damage from the weapon, not damage from enchantments on the weapon. I believe the same would happen if it was a flaming sword and the sword damage didn't kill the creature. The creature would flame for a second or two, and when the person was killed by the flame damage, the kill move wouldn't show because the creature died of fire wounds. That's probably the way it should work, the only problem with the Enhanced Magkicka Saber is that the weapon damage is so low that the kill move almost never shows.
What is a leveled list and how does the presence or absence of one in this mod affect the game? Thanks.
Edit: Ok, looked up Skyrim Leveled Lists and I have the gist of what it does. Since I am adding these sabers via the console, does it matter if I am using the leveled version of this list or not? Will the sabers do the damage indicated, regardless of my level if I use the version with leveled lists? Thanks.
The leveled list version adds magicka sabers to the random encounters while the non-lvlist don't. It doesn't matter if you use any one of them since they has a similiar baseID (just don't use both of them), and the damage for both version are same.
Just loaded this and I have to say that it is awesome. I love the original Magicka Saber mod, but one thing that always bothered me was how the original Magicka Saber would throw off blue sparks whenever you hit something. This worked perfectly for the blue saber, as the sparks were the same color, but it looked odd with any other color saber, and although I really wanted to use a red saber (to go with the red and black sith clothes from the Jedi - Sith Light Armored Clothes mod), I always ended up using the blue saber because a red saber throwing off blue sparks was off putting. This mod causes, for lack of a better word, spark colored sparks when you hit something. I haven't tried it out on anyone yet, but I will definitely report back when I do. Awesome work so far, thanks for putting this together .
i think it's caused by the same spark impact for all magicka sabers (the blue-colored sparks), i will try to make specific sparks for specific color in the next update
Don't change it, it is perfect as it is . Your mod has real looking sparks for each saber, which is how it should be. What I was trying to say is that I like the fact that each saber gives off real looking sparks, regardless of what color it is. Good job, and please don't change it if future updates.
