If you haven't done it yet, please remember to thank and endorse Stealthic and Kalilies for their beautiful KS Hairdos and their masterfully crafted Hairdos with HDT Physics.
KNOWN ISSUES & SOLUTIONS: 1. If your follower does not equip the wig, make sure there are no other helmets in the inventory that have a higher armor rating.
2. If the wig changes color, simply un-equip then re-equip the wig.
3. Vanilla Hair: A Skyrim update made long vanilla hair visible under helmets. Since these wigs are helmets, the "long hair" portion of vanilla hairs will be visible under the wig. I have tried but can find no way to remove the long hair portion of vanilla hairs since this update.
For now, you will have to change a long vanilla hair to a custom hair to remove the vanilla "long hair" that remains under the helmet/wig. This can be done by using a mod that changes the desired character's appearance (hair) or by using the creation kit to change the hair to something other than vanilla.
4. To keep your follower from disappearing, make sure to save, exit and reload after giving your follower her new hairdo.
VERSION 2.02. 1. 13 new KS Hairdos converted. 2. Colors are now deeper and more vibrant. 3. Crafting and equipping menus now display which wig you are crafting/equipping for both male and female player menus. 4. The hair mesh defect for Sky 208 black has been repaired.
VERSION 3.01: SIx new requested hairdos converted, Baby Doll (with band), Caress, Galaxy, Icarus, Only You and Tonight (30 more wigs).
VERSION 3.2: Five more requested hairdo's (Amore, Angels, Didar, Rosie Cloud and Sky 033) have been converted (25 more wigs). Version 3.02 also includes a Harvest Feather Circlet. Now you can wear those magnificently crafted KS Harvest Feathers with any KS Hairdo.
VERSION 3.03: Four new requested KS Hairdos have been converted: Kerli, Kikyo, Metropolis, and Metropolis 2. Also by request, 13 hairdos now come in white: Amor, Angels, Cambrian, Didar, Galaxy, Gecko, Metropolis, Metropolis 2, Rosie Cloud, Sky 097, 201, Sweet Villain, & Tonight. There are now 37 more wigs to choose from.
VERSION 3.04: All hairdos now have a "white" color option. The Harvest Hairdo has finally been converted. Also Traveler has been converted as per request.
THE NON HDT VERSION 1.01: Acquaira, Cassy, Sky 033, Sweet Scar 2, Vapor and Wishing Tree are now available. Also available are two wigs for males and females (Macho and Vetran) with an additional male only wig -- Zombrex. They will be listed as either "M" (male) or "M & F" (male & Female) in the crafting menu.
NON-HDT VERSION: Two new requested hairdo's (Sky 201 and Top Gorgeous) have been converted. Due to complaints of the mod cluttering up the crafting menu, the wigs can now only be crafted at the Skyforge in Whiterun (behind Jorvaskr, the Companion's dwelling in Whiterun). The crafting display does not show the model for Aquaria or Vetran at present because they are being a pain. The display will hopefully be corrected in an update.
HDT VERSION 4.0 is now available! Version 4 sports a new crafting menu. Two more requested HDT wigs have been converted, Crescent and Vapor. Also, because of complaints of the mod crowding the crafting menu, the wigs are now only craftable at the Skyforge in Whiterun (behind Jorvaskr, the Companion's dwelling in Whiterun). Enjoy!
NON-HDT VERSION 1.025 is now available! Six new requested hairdo's, Butterfly 091, Cadence, Candle, Cliché, Heaventide, HeaventidePB, Sky 0271, Sleepwalking, Temptress, Titanium and Wakeup have been converted. That is 66 new wigs for non-HDT enthusiast to enjoy!
COLORS: I have tried to give the hairs a natural look. Currently you have two shades of each naturally occurring hair: brunette, (black and brunette), two shades of red (chestnut and an auburn "red") and now two shades of blonde (dirty "blonde" and platinum "white"). If the white is not white enough, the black is not black enough or the red is not red enough, here is a description as to how you can change the hair color to suit your personal taste.
1. Pull up the desired KSWig nif. file located in the Data/Meshes/armor/hide/f folder.
2. Once you have the nif. file pulled up, look at the "block list" box that is on the top left. Their should be two blocks called "NiTriShape." One block is for the hair and the other is for the hair line.
3. You will need to change the color on both NiTriShape blocks. Left click on the arrow in front of both NiTriShape blocks to activate their drop down lists. Drop down lists should appear below each NiTriShape block.
4. In the drop down lists of the NiTriShape blocks there should be a "BSLightingShaderProperty" block. Click on one of the BSLightingShaderProperty blocks (not the arrow in front of it) to select it.
5. After you have selected a BSLighting ShaderProperty block, look at the "block details" box on the lower right corner of the Nif. file. Scroll until you find a line named "Hair Tint Color."
6. The Hair Tint Color is where you change the color of the hair. You can do this one of two ways.
a. The first is to left click on the color wheel, which will pull up a circle of colors where you can select the color you want just by clicking on it, rotating the wheel and moving the dot.
b. The other way, which is the way I do it, is to double left click on the Hair Tint Color line just to the right of the color wheel. This will pull up boxes for Red, Green and Blue where you can enter specific intensity for each color. The higher the number, the lighter the color.
I usually set the "black" hair tint color at aroundR: 0.160, G: 0.160, B: 0.160. I do this because when I go much darker, the hair looses some of its detail. The base hairdo nif starts at R:0.133, G:0.133, B0.133. This is pretty dark and should be "black" enough, if not, set everything to 0.000.
The "blonde" (dirty) setting is R: 0.700, G:0.700, B: 0.700.
The "brunette" setting is R: 310, G: 310, B:310.
The "chestnut" setting is R: 0.525, G: 0.350, R: 0.150
The "red" setting is R: 0.350, G: 0.200, B:0.200. If your idea of "red" is maraschino cherry red, bump the red numbers up. If you want to lighten the color up, increase the G: and R: numbers, but keep them lower than the "R" red setting.
The "White" setting is R: 1.000, G: 1.000, B: 1.000. This is as high as the "Hair Tint Color" will go. If you want to try and get it to appear whiter, you can scroll up and increase the "Emissive color" settings. I have bumped these up to R: 0.133, G: 0.133, B: 0.133. I find if I go much higher, the hair gets brighter instead of whiter. This gives the hair an unnatural glow that makes even the whitest skin appear to have the black face bug.
Don't forget to change the Hair Tint Color on both NiTriShape blocks and save the file or the hairline and hair will not match.
I would love to get this to work for my followers, but whenever I give one to my khajiit or fennec race followers it appears as an imperial steel helmet. Any suggestions?
Ok, after hours & hours of trial & error, I finally found out why KS Hairs don't show up in the game. Apparently, KS Hairs hates female bodies that have animated p****y.......Particularly, All-in-One UUNP HDT AP 4.0 Standard Edition. I removed this female body from my game, and the hairs returned.
Please make more wigs without physics, I beg you, Ks hairs is such a wonderful mod, where there are a lot of chic hairstyles, add at least 50 more pieces, PLEASE !!!
Looks like we're not getting any more non-HDT wigs which is a shame, If skyrim's engine didn't make the hair physics spaz out and making followers invisible then i would love these hairs but unfortunately they do this everytime and have to stick with the current non-HDT which is a shame as it removes a lot of the hairstyles
I'm using this with SSE and it works fine, except for the fact that all colors are the NPCs hair color when worn. I'm using RaceMenu and I remember seeing things that said there would be issues with the wigs not matching the NPCs hair color if RaceMenu wasn't installed when using another wigs pack so maybe RaceMenu is the issue?
This problem happens with a newer version of RaceMenu, but there's a simple solution:
1. Navigate into where your RaceMenu is installed into the folder SKSE -> Plugins and locate the file skee64.ini 2. Open the ini file and find the line bEnableTintHairSlot 3. Change the value to 0, so that it looks like this: bEnableTintHairSlot=0 ; Default[1]
This should do the trick and make the wig colors match their descriptions :)
Really love your wigs. Thank you. I tried the HDT and found the stretch was too much with followers because of all the location changes, so thought to simply replace the followers (while keeping the other NPCs) with the non-hdt but found many meshes I had fallen in love with had not been ported to the Non-HDT version. I am reading up on wig conversions and will see if I can manage something for my personal use.
Are there any plans to convert the rest of these into non-hdt versions? I tried converting/optimizing for SSE too but the colors and meshes go all buggy.
i would looove a larger non hdt wig mod of KS hairs. thanks for the one here but there's only like 10 styles and many of those too long for good non hdt look. i'd have thought there be more non hdt wig mods

I'm gonna try "Clams of Skyrim" next........
1. Navigate into where your RaceMenu is installed into the folder SKSE -> Plugins and locate the file skee64.ini
2. Open the ini file and find the line bEnableTintHairSlot
3. Change the value to 0, so that it looks like this: bEnableTintHairSlot=0 ; Default[1]
This should do the trick and make the wig colors match their descriptions :)
i'd have thought there be more non hdt wig mods
