I fast travelled from Ivarstead to Morvunskar and was completely fine. Had a couple of Vigilents of Stendarr spawn and as I was going to fight them a message popped up on the screen and was immediately minimised. I was able to continue playing the game but I paused a couple of seconds after the message appeared 'cause I wanted to check it.
Tabbing out to check the message showed it was from crash fixes, claiming that sounds.nif caused the game to crash. But the game hadn't crashed? It wasn't frozen or anything, it was running fine. In fact, hitting "Ok" to close the dialogue caused the game to close.
