I actually did find a serious problem with Honed Metal too. It adds crafting materials to your inventory while the crafting window is open, thus your script thinks I'm crafting hundreds of ingots and other various items.
This is not the best fix, but it gives you a basic idea how to detect this condition. Honed Metal modifies some game strings and other settings while "its" crafting window is open:
Regarding my issue with items taking no time to craft at the forge, disregard my comment about Honed Metal, it's got nothing to do with it. I found the issue, here's a patch:
Only problem I have noticed so far is that during the initial smithing tutorial, crafting a dagger and hide helmet at the Forge take no time, but all the other crafting stations do take the configured amount of time. I also noticed ordering (via Honed Metal) a (Hunterborn) hunting knife from Alvor did take time.
Other than that minor issue, it's really nice to have Living Takes Time work sensibly with all my mods - especially Campfire. Before this it took me days to get a fire lit only to have it go out a few minutes later.
To clarify: the issue with cooking, at least for me (using CACO) is that any Tanning, Smelting, Misc takes time setting apart from 0 makes simply activating a cooking pot take time. There was a second issue with browsing the cooking menu while CACO is 'decluttering' (you hear the inventory 'ticking' noise) the recipes, which made like 5+ hours to pass, but DrPastah's version took care of it.
I used Dr Pastehs with Ineed and CACO and it still had the issue of jumping time forward a couple of hours when activating the cooking pot. DIdn't notice the issue as badly with the tanning rack.
Did you get it to work? If so, how? What's your load order?
Does this version also has issues with cooking and random activities? I've downloaded compatibility remake of LTT by DrPastah and it is just messed up so I wonder should I give a try to this one or is it also has same issues. By the way, this mod should at least have a cover photo and better description to attract some attention if it does make better job then DrPastah's. Just a thought, for uploader.
That wasn't uploaded when I started creating the mod, and after consulting with Chesko, unroboros and others here and on github it was recommended I upload my version, so I did...

I will be more prudent in the future.
