It's actually not that bad, I paired it with attack speed fix to make the attack animations slower and that kinda helps. I think. At the very least, my attacks seem like there's actual weight behind their punch. If anything, I'd mess with the left-hand punch. I'm not sure if the author will return, but... I like this mod, I believe in its potential. I'm kinda hoping that someday they'll return and refine the animations.
Sadly, I don't think I'll be using this mod. I'm using the Grandmaster's boxing animations instead, as they're much smoother, and more accurately resemble boxing-style jabs. The animations in this mod are a little choppy--interpolation is quite alright, however the number of frames the animations use seems limited, as the character is impossibly quick, and the transitions into punches rather take away from immersion.
I totally give you props for taking the time, energy and effort necessary to craft entirely new animations from scratch for Skyrim, akaAka. It's a genuinely challenging experience, and you've taken a great step into modding by putting this mod together. I'll save my endorsement for a future mod that I hope you'll make, because this is a promising beginning!
No one has done anything simple, yeah. You might argue that this one is simple in that regard but it doesn't do the game justice I feel. Half of the replaced animations are the same right straight punch and the punch flurry hasn't been replaced.
I'm not saying this mod is rubbish, it's just not that good either.
Grandmaster mod replaces default punching animations with two unused left/right jabbing animations that Bethesda made. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13281/?
To be honest this is all around pretty awful, the left jab looks ok but the character makes some weird head movement when it happens, the right straight is so janky and not smooth at all, its even worse than vanilla. A straight punch is just a chest movement, not some weirdo crouch thing. The uppercut animation also needs some smoothing out.
