Wow. That's quite a lot of impact for a subtle change. The reliefs and decorative elements stand out a lot better now, without loosing the original feel of the texture.

Alright, I have changed the gloves and did some work on the helm, here is a picture of both, the steel tends to be over-bronzified by the reflective color of the armor but other than that it definitely seems more metallic than the last pic.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Heh, you should take my previous texts with a grain of salt. You're the modder after all. And the screenshots above clearly show that you know a lot more than me about making good retextures.

I've been wondering whether or not to make some of the designs on the dwarven armor more bronze to give them a slight highlight, basically the different zigzag designs that I made ivory on the gloves, because it seems like it would provide a good contrast to the steel

Heh, just a joke but I thought that it perhaps could give you some ideas. I'm watching the Avengers at the moment and come to think of it... The dwemer armor could look good with the Ironman colors. Porsche red with gold details, and glowing blue light from the eyes. Then play with the Space Wiking Dwemer Exoskeleton mod and the Dwarven Mechanical Equipment mod. Gets you pretty close to a Skyrim version of the superhero, no?

"Ok, I think I see what you are getting at, that there is more steel with dwemer on top of it but not completely covering the steel, as well as wood in some cases to make it lighter. You make it sound like the ivory should only be in places out of harm's way which sounds practical, so I'm wondering if the dwemer should be made more bronze (less blurry/dirty) to help it stand out against the steel. I'll have a look at the rest of the armor to get more familiar with the entire set especially with what you have pointed out so far."

That sounds like an excellent idea. Now that the armor is no longer a single solid brass color adding a bit of extra shine to the dwemer details would make that stand out a lot better. Careful though. If you polish the set up too much it might take on a different look altogether. Then again, if your ebony armor retextures have the "bad guy" look I guess that a noble looking feel to the dwemer set might not be out of place. But the set also lends itself well for different versions, lorewise, since it's the remnant of a highly advanced lost civilization.

For example: you could have old style dwemer, which is found in ruins, that is very aged yet have been mysteriously resilient against the passage of time. Scratched, dulled textures but still shiny.

You got the newly forged sets, that would use more high quality steel in its creation since the original techniques are lost, that draws from several hundred years of technological progress since Oblivion. It's polished and whole, with mostly steel textures, and possibly even more highly decorated (gold, ivory, malachite) than the original.

Then you could have repaired dwemer armor which would use the old style textures but with polished shine and saturated colors.

And then you could have reborn dwemer armor that combines rediscovered techniques of the dwemer with the modern magiotech. This concept gives you a lot of freedom for the texture. It might well be as strong as daedric and have a quite exotic appearance compared to the vanilla dwemer set (glowing details, steam aura, several different alloys used, details grabbed from the ebony and glass armor sets, etc).
