There is exactly one script (the CompatibilityScript) in this mod that uses SKSE; aside from that, no changes should be necessary (I'm not completely certain about that, of course; you should still test whether your port works correctly).
Of all places, why on Nirn would you pick Kagrinzel to start? Falmer are way too strong for a level 1 character unless you cheat. You don't even get but one healing potion, and you only get heavy armor with s#*! weapons. I would have chosen something smaller with bandits, because they are way lower level than falmer OR an old Nordic ruin - one of the smaller ones - that's filled with mostly bandits and/or drauger.
Also, it really sucks always starting the 'adventurer' options always start with heavy armor and 2-handed weapons.
I like it, I really do. It's very interesting. I've tested several, though the ones that tend to suit most of my characters just cause me to start off with terribly unsuitable gear and weapons, putting me at a major disadvantage. Example - redguards start off with high one-handed skill. They just don't use 2-handed weapons for the most part.

The creator of that mod and a few other mod creators have deleted their mods due to changes Nexus has made to the site. you might be be able to get it on another website if you google it but personally I cba with that.
Bless you for the updated link, I was very sad to not find Alternate Start on LE while downgrading from SE after Bethesda's new updatepocalypse they seem to be unleashing.
