Thanks, I'm looking for a place for the text that it will require a little searching to find. The girl is from Dwarven Doll Followers. The mod is no longer on Nexus, but can be found on Vicn's blog page.
In case anyone needs help finding Vicn's mod page for the dwarven doll followers: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6069?tab=files It's in the optional files.
I installed this mod very recently and just like in bug reports the instant i got close to ruins of Bthalft i was having my game crash because of a mesh problem which has been reportedly SOLVED by the author. I'm not sure if he really solved it or not but since I removed the mesh from my game it stopped crashing... the file path to the mesh is : meshes/clutter/containers/dwesoulgemcontainer01.nif. If mod author is still updating this PLEASE have another look at it cheers and thanks!.
Thank you for adding the file path. Very useful to know. Probably should delete the file on install just as a safety precaution. Great work otherwise on this and other textures.
Yes, as you can read a few posts further down, this mesh WILL crash your game. Every time. It has not been successfully fixed. The mesh needs to be deleted from your installation of this mod if you want to play Skyrim. There are quests that cannot be completed otherwise because they involve this container, or take place near one such container (even outdoors).
That would be a really amazing touch if you could manage it. Though a question comes to mind. Is the rune-script on those pipes jibberish or does it actually translate to something understandable?
Adding the text is not difficult. It's were to put it on the texture so that it only shows on the pipes. I thought the ancient text written on pipes that snaked around in and through the ruins was a nice touch that kept you reminded of not only were you are, but also the great knowledge connecting everything. Gary Noonan (one of the developers of Morrowind) at that time he was known as WormGod or Wormy. The text translates to Wormgod written repeatedly on the pipes. Examples of Dwemer text in Skyrim is just jibberish. I thought it would be amusing to bring the WormGod to Skyrim.
Oh, you're still around, that's great. I feared you had abandoned the mod. In case you haven't seen my post below, the current (read: revised) version of the soulgemcontainer mesh still crashes the game hard. With all due respect, before you contemplate adding decorative texts to pipes, I think you should address this grave issue first.
I wonder how many more people like kaizersoze27 and Siccx wasted hours over frustrating hours narrowing down the cause of their CTDs to this mod.
I never could have imagined! Had to disable all the mods, reactivate them one by one and finally isolated to this one. Took me whole night...I am tired, so tired
Just did a quick test, installed just the textures of the mod and not the meshes, no CTD's around Boulderfall cave, but when I use the meshes the CTD issues pop up again, not sure what specific mesh it is, but it's causing the issues.
Yes, it's that same mesh again (still). meshes/clutter/containers/dwesoulgemcontainer01.nif
It crashes my game very efficiently if I get inside 100 miles of a location where there is such a container. That's the revised version as of March 2016.
Setting the mesh to "Hidden" with MO will fix the problem for the time being.
I found that the CTD's were from a mesh I added parallax to. This has been taken out. If there is still a problem then please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you LeanWolf for finding the problematic mesh.
This improves the look of dwarven items dramatically and should definitely have more downloads and endorsements. However, I have run into an issue. I get CTD near Shor's Stone, in the Dwarven Storeroom and when entering Mzulft. I don't run into this issue when I disable the mod. I am inclined to agree that Velexia's comment in the bug section is correct that there is an issue with one of the meshes. I hope this gets fixed soon as I much prefer playing Skyrim with your textures and meshes.
It's the dwarven convector mesh: meshes\clutter\containers\dwesoulgemcontainer01.nif It crashes both the CK and my game whenever I try to enter a cell containing it.
Edit: If you fix it you should use the model from USLEEP, which fixed the opening/closing sounds, although they put it in the wrong directory.
I can confirm the corrupted mesh as well. Setting it to "mohidden" in MO immediately fixed the CTDs I have been getting in the general neighborhood of Bthalft. Thanks to the people who have identified and publicized the culprit, especially LeanWolf who narrowed it down to that one mesh. You have my eternal gratitude.
She's my follower. Vicn created a mod named Dwarven Doll Followers a few years ago. You can still find it on his blog page. These textures are used in many mods that use vanilla assets. His mod is just one of many that can be effected by my retexture.
