This requires permission from the original modder. Would love to see it done personally, but horrorview has been MIA from the modding scene for what seems like forever now.

Looking at these pictures makes you realize how bland and lifeless Skyrim's digital color palette is. It's like Bethesda is deliberately aiming for the Soviet ''aesthetic''. In Oblivion, Morrowind, and even Daggerfall, everything was bright and colorful, so what the hell gives, Bethsoft?

The dirt road is grey even though the image above shows it as a more orange/brown. This is not a conflict, the file wrstonefloor02 is a grey looking dirt road as well.

    LORE-FRIENDLY UNREALISTIC NOT LORE-FRIENDLY
    Funny, the tags were contradictory.
Actually this is lore friendlier according to some, because some think past people actually make their buildings bright and colorful. They look weathered because they found in ruins.
Used to love to put this back in Skyrim because i am annoyed to see how weathered the buildings are along with the whole desaturated colors compared to Oblivion's Cyrodiil. This works in SSE.

I believe the reason Whiterun and some other hold capitals are weathered and desaturated is because Skyrim is a less wealthy region of Tamriel than Cyrodiil. It is also plagued with problems. The dead are coming back to life, dragons are reappearing, there is a Civil War raging on (even though it doesn't really seem like it) to name a few. Idk, those are my thoughts at least.

This works in SSE?  How about SAV?  mmm...  I love this mod; I wish someone would port it...  We shall see.  What happened to Sexy Riften, Winhelm and all the other Sexy mods?

Yes it works but you must convert from LE format to SE format. NifScan + SSE NIF Optimizer.

This works as-is in SSE. Why use NIF Optimizer or NifScan if there are no meshes in this mod?

    Hello.
I installed this mod to see how it would look in-game, but I decided I do not want these textures anymore.
What should I do to uninstall these textures and revert back to the vanilla textures?
    Thank you!

Have you tried... deinstalling the mod? If you use a mod manager like nexus this should be one simple click of a mouse. If you've installed it manually, delete the files you downloaded. If you've overwritten/deleted vanilla files, either drag them back if you made a manual backup, or simply check integrity in the steam library which will find and download all missing vanilla files.

I spent hours tonight trying to uninstall this mod, the blue roofs/red building frames did indeed uninstall from MO like they're supposed too, but the whiterun folder inside skyrim/data/textures/achitecture directory remained. I deleted it, but the problem persisted as the sexy whiterun buildings were still visible from outside the city at close distance.

I tried many resolutions without any luck, changing ini, generating new ini's, installing different whiterun texture mods, fresh saves, fast travelling, reloading cells, changing the time scale in game and flashing months by in seconds, nothing seemed to fix it. New whiterun textures would install fine, I could see them from inside Whiterun and at a far distance outside the city, but when I got closer to the exterior of the city, BAM there were the blue roofs of Sexy Whiterun again, much to my disdain.

Finally as I was about to give up, I took one last look in the Skyrim/Data/Textures and spotted a folder named 'Lod' which I did not recognize, it was not present in the Sexy Skyrim folder for sure, so I do not fault this mod, but there it was just the same and inside were about 6-12 files with titles like farmhouse, castle etc.

So I moved the entire folder to my desktop and out of my data/textures directory, relaunched Skyrim and voila Sexy Skyrim blue roofs and red frames are no longer visible from a close distance outside of Whiterun, and my new textures for the city are showing everywhere. Inside, outside close and outside far distance from the city.

Like I said, I don't blame Sexy Skyrim, I know this folder wasn't present in the install zip file, but at some point it got made (possibly through my own user error) but I figured since it was somewhat relevant, and might spare someone else hours of troubleshooting in the future, I may as well make a post here since this was the first place I came to look for solutions.

Finally, Vanilla Whiterun was depressing to look at.
