Isn't this mod kind of unnecessary as Skyrim Search Plugin (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50435/?) exists, which already supports searching for NPC ref IDs by NPC name for any mod directly in Skyrim's console? I don't want to make the creator feel his work was superfluous, but I'm going to have to guess he didn't know something already existed (which is perfectly understandable, as it's not like Skyrim Search Plugin is a well known thing).
I wasn't aware of this plugin. Thanks for mentioning it. I checked it out and it works great with the main game and DLC. However, I don't think it works with mods like Interesting NPCs because the plugin builds its database from the games' STRING files, which, as far I can see, Interesting NPCs doesn't have. Correct me if I'm missing something, though.
Ah, yes. I forgot that that was how the database was made (I set it up around 18 months ago and haven't touched it since). I thought it read esps and esms to get the data.
That said, I'm actually kind of surprised so few mods have externalised strings. I just looked through my load order, and there's nothing except the DLC and, oddly, SMIM, that has a strings folder.
Excellent mod. I usally resurrect NPCs that have been killed by Vampires/Dragons so this is very helpful. Endorsed. Does someone know a good way to resurrect Balbus ? He died awhile ago in my current game and supposedly respawns but I can never find him. His Ref ID is apparently differnt in each persons game.

Forget it. Very useful tool.

whatever, this must have taken a lot of work and you deserve congrats for your first release.
The console only shows base ids when you type in help.
