I forgot to mention that the Stalhrim Light armor refit is also included in the update, I also forgot to grab screenshots. sorry!
Bug! The bandit armors currently require the Sam/SOS skeleton, so until I update the file again they will crash your game. Delete them or install Sam light in the meantime, and apologies for the inconvenience!
Yes, it would be. Just run the nifs through the nif converter for SSE. If you do so and feel like packaging it up, I can post it as an official SSE version, but if not dont worry. I converted the nifs a while back, but just dont have any interest in packaging and releasing anything myself, sorry!
1) Since you did new meshes for the naked-chest piece of fur armour/bandit armour, how will the body look if you're using Better Males bodies? Or does it only work with SAM?
2) Any idea if your Stalhrim meshes are compatible with these textures http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48894 ?
As with any armor mesh mod, any custom textures will work, I didnt touch the UVs
As with any armor mesh mod, the armor "replaces* the body, so you can use any body mod you like, but when you strip the armor off a dead bandit wearing the fur skirt, the body the bandit appears to have with the skirt on will change to the Better Males body once the armor is removed. You may also experience some neck seams when they are wearing the armor as the body texture is mapped to SAM differently than the vanilla body, but only very slightly.
basically the tiny, mostly ignorable problems I encountered before doing these refits will plague you as well. The easiest solution is to simply not use my replacer for the fur armors (or the falmer armor when I release it) and everything else will just give you a shapelier armor profile without affecting any gameplay.
Cool, thanks. I believe the Stalhrim retexture adds its own meshes as well, so that will likely not be compatible. Honestly I wish someone would make that mod a standalone armour and not a replacer, that would be really, really sweet.
I'll try and see what it looks like in my game with the fur armour. I don't go looting a lot of bandits off their armour, so I don't mind the body swap thing. It sounds good that the other issues are pretty minor, so I'll just have a look myself and see how it turns out.
ahh apologies, I assumed it was just a retexture mod. Yeah my stalhrim mesh will replace his meshes, though just the light one, I havent tackled heavy stalhrim yet.
to be honest though, stalhrim was a bit of an afterthought, I was poking about in dragonborn armors and saw it just needed some very minor adjustments, and since there was no skin and only one mesh, I just went for it. You arent going to be missing a major overhaul by skipping that one, should you need help deciding.
Wolf armor or glass armor on the other hand... I cant recommend them enough as there are, to my knowledge, no decent mesh replacers for those, and they are *awful* in vanilla.
I already downloaded and installed. Gonna have a look in my game, can't wait to check out those male bodies now, haha.
Stalhrim armour is sort of 'meh'. I like that mod though, it manages to make it look decent, and gets rid of that godawful light helmet with the bug horns on it. I'm gonna keep those textures and meshes (I already deleted the stalhrim meshes from your mod here before installing).
I'm using aMidianBorn glass and wolf armour (and the addon variants), so I imagine they'll look pretty sweet with both custom meshes and texts.
Yeah I did that one differently, I pasted the armor directly onto the Sam body, which uses the SOS/SAM skeleton. Next time I upload armors, I'll post a different version of those that isn't dependent on that skeleton
*shrug* They crashed mine, repeatedly. It was pretty easy to replicate really, since all it required was to equip the armor and then -> desktop. Seeing bandits in it also made me CTD immediately.
Yeah, I have been pretty busy of late, though I do have a handful of new armors ive refit.
the bandit armors wont work unless you use the SoS or SAM skeleton, though everything else will work fine. If you install and then delete the bandit file you should be good to go. I took a gander and I am not sure I will ever redo the bandit armors to not use the SoS/SAM skeleton, lots of troublesome work for me that I dont personally need to do. So I may make the bandit armors a separate download when I post an update next week.
Yeah, I didn't want to make these reliant on anything specific, the armors I am zeroing in on are pretty terrible in vanilla (think barrel shaped people) and I am making them more fitted. The inclusion of SAM (Light or otherwise) is incidental to the armor itself.
While the nightingale armor really set me off, the glass armor, to me, was always the absolute worst. Now its actually pretty sharp looking ^^
So if I have this right, SAM light is a basic body replacer and this makes it so that the armors you were don't turn your body back into the standard vanilla body. Sounds cool, all I need are the Falmer armors and I'm sold
thats so funny you mention them, but are you referring to the bug armors or the snow elf armor? Either way, both are on my radar and the vanilla falmer armor is refit just not exported and such
EDIT: Also to your first question, SAM Light replaces the vanilla body with the _0 and _1 from SAM, this armor replacer is *not* dependent on SAM Light or any other mod, it simply refits armor to look appropriate to the SAM body. The way armor and clothing works in SKyrim, the "body" is replaced by the "armor" (which in the CK are both considered ArmorAddon pieces) So you can have armor thats is designed to be on a morbidly obese body and even if you dont use that body, when you equip the armor you will look morbidly obese. The same principle works here; these armors are refit to look right with the SAM body but you dont have to use any body replacers at all to use the armors, it will just look odd when you remove the armor and the body underneath doesnt match, but thats it, nothing will stop working.

Keep 'em coming

Thanks for the heads up!
Great job on the wolf armour, now the Companions don't look like all they do is eat and drink all day (even if that is all they actually do), thanks!

Please don't stop working on this, finish this it's just awesome!
Will you finish this? Please!

*goes back to SAM*
