And now my Skyrim crashes at start up. Probably because I replaced the main menu music file with a new one. Any help troubleshooting? I know this is an old thread but I may as well ask.
I can't get some tracks to work..the Skyrim's default music files (xwm) are 48kbps,sample rate 44100 and stereo, same are the files that your tool convert but.. A question to anyone know, the converted wav file has to be saved as PCM uncompressed in 44100 stero OR DivX WMA audio v2 ?
Thank you for this! Endorsed and voted for Now I can enjoy my exploration along with my favourite Diablo II/LoD and VtM: Redemption tunes plus only the finest Skyrim OST tracks!
EDIT: Just to confirm what others have noticed, I've used the simplified method of copying the appropriate folder structure and putting my newly created xwm files in their places... Works just fine, every single track plays well and I cannot express how greatful I am for your converting tools!
I'm new to modding so this may sound like a stupid question: I've noticed that only the first 4 battle tracks will play; anything after "mus_combat_04_cg" will not play. Is there any way to get the game to recognize all tracks? Thanks in advance
the below comment is true- you do not need to repack and replace the .bsa. simply copying the folder structure in your Data folder is enough.
i have had success creating a mod for myself to add Morrowind and Oblivion music into the game. it's great, i can't imagine playing without it- however i've found there are a few tracks that will never play. very strange. i've heard others report the same, sometimes even if you do everything right some tracks won't play. i'd love to get to the bottom of it (as they are my favorite songs!)
i own the other games and have not uploaded or shared this mod anywhere so i don't believe i'm outside of any copyright issues
Creating a new BSA is NOT necessary! Instead of creating your BSA put the whole file structure you created into your data folder and the game will pick those tracks instead of what the vanilla BSA provides. The folder structure of course is Skyrim/Data/music/"subfolders".
Why do more work than necessary and why rely on the new BSA archives? If the BSA gets updated via steam - you loose your tracks!
