Idk how biology works in the elder scrolls universe but the last thing I want is a ton of roots near my buildings. Thanks for the all the contribution though!

They utilise their magic to prevent trees from destroying homes? It's a fantasy game bro, chill. Thanks for your contribution though!

This is very impressive! I have used Perfect Whiterun for almost every one of my play throughs over the years because I love having pines in Whiterun. This time round I thought I'd try a couple different versions of pines in Whiterun and I have to say the changing of the gildergreen to a large pine was preaty neat! but it felt kinda of over shadowed by the surrounding near equally as tall pines, making it stand out a little less.I'm torn between yours, and Whiterun Forest by Streider. I love your little additions to the outside as well as his/her outside additions and textures which is where the conflict comes into play as which ever is loaded last gets priority....any chance you can make a compatibility patch for it, merging your outside additions to their textures?

Thanks for this mod Lizardrex. It really gives Whiterun a very pleasant vive.

I appreciate the hours you put in plotting all the pine trees in Whiterun, but Whiterun is a city in Tundra so trees are few and far between and if there is any, it wouldn't be a pine tree because the terrain and the climate is not right for the region. Now, Riften, on the other hand, should have a bit more trees.

And for those who says "this is a game LOL who cares if it makes sense," you would be surprised how many people out there care about this kind of stuff. Role-playing experience always seek ways to enhance immersion. Yes there are mods out there that change the dragons into trains, or shoot magic from nipples, but those mods are clearly joke mods for fun. Pine trees in Whiterun is neither funny nor immersive, so it is a mod that serve no one.

Actually whiterun stand on a little hill, and all around is surrounded by pine trees, so maybe it's possible that some of them are still there, maybe some pines should not be in the out area, but in the inside walls i not agree with you! it's a matter of taste !

This is very true, although it's a matter of taste as to whether people will enjoy this mod - given the below comments it does appear that it appeals to a few people, and the mod has 3 endorsements at the time of writing.

Immersion is a big thing for me, along with many other people, so pine trees in Whiterun is a big no-no. Having trees of any sort, especially pine trees, in a cold tundra doesn't make any sense. Skyrim is of course modelled heavily on 8th century Scandinavian climate and geography, and if you search Google Images for "Scandinavian Tundra" you will be hard pressed to find a single tree.

Again, I appreciate that this sort of thing will appeal to some tastes, the argument could not be made that Whiterun hold is a logical locale for pine trees.

That being said, since this is the world of TES you could argue that magic is involved. However due to Whiterun being fairly unaffiliated with magic there would have to be some precursor and evidence of magical involvement. Also magic related, the Dwemer managed to keep a tree alive underground for an unknown number of years, but again Whiterun is unaffiliated with the Dwemer.

Okay I see both of your point. Perhaps someone simply hate the idea of empty lands and want some trees. Besides, if we can have a Tropical Skyrim mod, then why not put some trees in Whiterun? I understand it completely now.

I really like your placement of the trees and the different sizes of them. The only thing it's lacking is brown pine-needles or darker brown soil with green moss or something. The light yellow grass of Whiterun just doesn't look like it belongs underneath those great pines.

Concerning the gildergreen quest, it doesn't make a lot of sense if the eldergleam is a pink flowering tree but the gildergreen is now a pine, however aesthetically I really like the large pine and in other mods that fill Whiterun with pines the gildergreen can then look a little out of place. So i guess it's really a matter of which is most important to someone, the quest or a nice shady green Whiterun

(I imagine the sapling option in that quest would simply not be visible at all if it doesn't actually end up removing the big pine, so you could probably complete it that way anyways. With the sap option in the quest depending on how it's implemented you could end up with pink blossomed branches sticking out of the pine tree if the quest places a new healthy gildergreen tree modle in that location. I'm not sure how it implements those changes)

What does this mod do to the Gildergreen quest? The pink tree in the middle- involving Danica Purespring? Can the quest still be completed?

Mixed with imaginator and surreal lighting, white run looks like a real fantasy city. Thanks for this.

Did any1 notice any problems with this mod during Whiterun siege in civil war questline? Like trees in the spots the catapults should be, or others? Ill track 4 now.
And 4 the "loremongers" (i consider one myself) - Whiterun is a hold capital, home of JARL, and he may have WHIMS. Like - plant trees in few spots or skin some imperials/redguards/non-nords alive and decorate city walls with their hides.
