Please let me know if youve had to do this as its an issue Im looking into.
I am having a problem that I can't understand. http://imgur.com/Q6afHaC I'm using Megapolom's overlay texture pack but none of the overlays are working. I'll downgrade and see if that helps.
About the bug where overlays and names displaying at the same time. Wouldn't a "reset" function in MCM help, since it's like the debug mode activates when it shouldn't. Happens to me sometimes when loading a save.
Hello, your mod is absolutely amazing. I only had a problem that when i downloaded version 2.5 and start a game nothing happened ( even with new game ), even the mod was not showing in MCM menu. So i downloaded version 2.0 as was adwised in the comments bellow and now everything works perfecly. I use it with enhanced blood and animation mod and its great immersion. Many thanks.
I have this mod and I installed the megapolom's blurred version, but it doesn't work. I reinstalled the mod again and again and I even reinstalled the game itself (in case that the bug could be a compatibility bug), but still doesn't work. I'm using skse 1.7.3, SkyUI 5.1 and Helmet Overlays 2.5
I already put the overlays folder in the interface folder, out of the exported folder. I tried to download the v2 of this mod but it didn't work too

Thanks to the help of meh321 the author of Immersive First Person View the next version of Helmet Overlays will have working IFPV support. If this was a feature you where hoping for please head over to IFPV and thank him.
I have to start out by saying that this one of the most original and awesome mods I've tried on the Nexus. It never occured to me that I needed helmet overlays but after using this mod, I can't get along without it.
That being said. I'm having this weird bug, There's a black bar with a whole bunch of info on it that keeps popping in all of a sudden. It looks like a troubleshooting or debug info bar. This phenomena even happened in your demo video. Happened when you do the helmet switch at around 2:08 (one second you only have the overlays and the next there's the black bar on top of the overlays). Anyway, I have debugging off in the MCM menu. I even tried to turning debug on and off but it still persists. How do I toggle this bar off. Is there a hotkey or console command?
He was working on a version that had that fixed but sadly it seems to have been abandoned like so many other great mods. I think you can still download the previous version to fix that but you won't get some of the features like adaptive lighting.
Thanks for taking the time to share that info, I really appreciate it. Bug just happens when you load a save for the first time after starting up Skyrim. I've been just getting around it by reloading the same save when I startup the game. Doing that makes the debug window go away for the entire play session after that. Still it's a massive pain in the ass, I might just do without the adaptive lighting and downgrade to the bug free version.
Too bad he dropped this project without at least fixing that minor bug. It makes ALL that work he put into the latest version pointless because most people will probably be downgrading and not using it because of this bug. What scrivener did is like going to the trouble of building a whole car from scratch only to balk at changing a flat tyre, leaving it undrivable 99% of the way to completion...
He already had a new version almost completed with loads of new features when all of a sudden he stopped. I'll never understand why you'd go through all that work only to stop all of a sudden for whatever reason.
it says its for oblivion and needs to be a BSA file it did that before but i got it to work but i can no longer use this mod hoping for a fix or maybe sum awnsers thanks yo
If anyone wants to try. I got the mod working in SSE (with all of the overlays available) as it should. Used v2.0 and did the different tips found around the forums. Probably work for old Skyrim too, didn't try. Feedback ? https://mega.nz/#!v4ZBgaJA!m00IkRcvoHMeHddldCb9etL-BMu1dRflD7egLTNi-4E
Edit : after testing, the to "bugs" I got is the purple overlay appearing when loading a save in first person. Just have to take off and re-equip each time I launch the game. Second is sometime it overlays the skyui Inventory, not really problematic.
lots of improvements from the last version, but this mod is simply not working for me; has never worked for me in the past. compatibility issues with skyui, ihud, etc? could be a bunch of other culprits on my list too; I have an array of things that affect the hud: skyrim enhanced camera, iactivate, mods that add their own widgets, the list just goes on.
the only time i've ever seen this mod in action is from the screenshots on the modpage, which is a real shame because this is like ultimate immersion when you have a helmet on. if i'm fully ironclad, i still don't feel like i am in first person; these overlays would change all of that.
it's too bad there's no simplier method to get this mod to run, script free, just the textures somehow. let's face it, whenever scripts are involved, things tend to get messy. i see no conflicts in mod organizer however; everything is considered to be a single record in this fantastically underated mod. i wonder what the heck is going on...
there is untapped potential in these interface textures; I'm sure there must be some easier way to apply them directly to the gear via xedit; no scripts.
wouldn't that be awesome.
i'm thinking you go directly into the piece via xedit and expand the model list; you know where it talks about the first person models of meshes? alternate textures? add those interface textures to a different path, link to them in xedit.
I fiddled around with this mod to get it to work, and alas, I finally got it working with SSE! Here's what I did: 1. Download from the link provided by nexus763 2. Extract the downloaded file into a folder. 3. In the extracted folder, you should see an Interface folder. Go into it. 4. MOVE the overlays folder in it INTO the exported folder. 5. Pack the whole folder back into 7z file. 6. Using Vortex, choose Install From File and choose the .7z file. 7. Should be working now if there's no conflict. If you get the purple texture, re-equip your helmet and it should work! Good luck, hope you can get it to work!
oh my god, it's working! I threw that sucker into exported and sure enough the overlay showed up right away in-game.
i'm not even seeing compatibility issues with my other hud plugins; all the hotkeys work, and the helmet overlay stays there. so looks like the entire problem here all along has been the folder structure.
you sir, have made my week and any future heavy armor playthrough.
Does it work with the new skse64? I tried installing it and enabled the esp but the game doesn't even start when I launch it... I would absolutely LOVE this mod for the special edition!
I have tried installing it but it doesn't work :( How do I do it? I downloaded this mod and the "bsa unpacker" and did what someone said in the comments. I transeferred the files into the data folder. The new "pex" files I got from the "bsa unpacker" I also put in the data folder. But it didn't work. I really want this mod, it looks awesome! Thank you in advance!
Could you possibly elaborate how exactly you made it work with SSE? Step by step, if possible. The main thing I would like to know is what to after unpacking the bsa?
Use BSA Unpacker to unpack the BSA to a folder of you're choice. It should have a interface folder and a scripts folder, simply put them in your data folder, along with esp file. Don't put the bsa file in the data folder though. Its pretty simple.
Do like this: .1 Download the bsa unpacker. It's here on the nexus. 2. download this mod. 3. Run the bsa unpacker. Click on "open", then choose the bsa file of this mod. 3. After it's done, click on "extract all" to a folder of your choice. 4. Choose those folders that were extracted and put them in the skyrim special edition data folder. 5. Put the esp file from this mod in the data folder as well. 6. go to this site: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70006?tab=files 7. Manual download sharp or blurred version. 8. Choose "interface" in that folder and drop it in the data folder as well. 9. open the nexus mod manager and run the plugin. And it's done. If you have a helmet already on an existing save, re equip it. It should now work! :)
Can someone please explain to me how to install this on the special edition? I've heard that it does work, and I have tried to install it, even with the bsa unpacker, but I haven't got it to work. Please help someone!

I'm having a problem
The mod works, loaded, but the overlay is not displayed
(There is a mod console on the screenshot)

@thebunnyrules : if you quicksave and load the bug disappear.
