First of all, thanks for you all efforts for this MOD but it's really unusable for me. I simply wanted to increase Destruction spell damages but this mod increase most of magic effects a lot. Like few of members mentioned, enchanted weapons, magica regeneration..etc so many related/unrelated spells/magic were effected. And then it became extremely overpowered - like 1 sward shot to kill Mammoths and Giants! So I had to uninstall it and I hope / wish you could fix it. Thank you..

Hey friend, I have no clue If you are still active here on in skyrim modding at all.
First I wanna thank you, because this mod finally makes destruction a useful yet not overpowered tool for a mage or spellsword character on legendary difficulty (in vanilla destruction is useless right from the start and gets even worse <.< )

However I encountered some problems starting to appear after picking the ADEPT Destruction Perk. Basically this perk does not only increase the damage of all destruction spells by 15%, it increases basically EVERY magical effect by 15%. This effects new enchants made on your own, as well as newly bought, possesed, equipped items, it even influences alchemy, increasing the effect of all potions by 15%.

In my recent playthrough I haven't obtained neither expert nor master, and I'll have to wait before I can give you information about them.

For further mod information: I do not run any mod that affects perks, skills, magic damage, enchantments, alchemy or equipment by any means, and I quicksaved and quickloaded for several times when picking the adept perk: each time all magical effects on armor, weapons, alchemy increased by the value of roughly 15%, so it has to be related to that perk.

Anyway, If you are still active, I would if you would have a look into that issue, because this is a fine mod.

Hiya, sorry for the late reply, I've not checked the Nexus in a while. I'm pretty certain I set it to only affect the Destruction School, but I will double check as soon as I can and figure out for certain whether it's something wrong with this mod or maybe a compatibility issue on your end. I'll go ahead and check the Expert and Master perks as well. Regardless, thanks for the kind words, haha. Glad you found as much use in the mod as I have.

      EDIT:

Oh, I just remembered something. It's not really a bug, but rather the way the game works. You see, many enchantments and alchemy effects that are seen as offensive are counted as "spells" of the Destruction School by the game engine. This means that the mod will increase their effects as it does with every other spell in the Destruction School, and that is a side effect I honestly can't do anything about. Even in vanilla, if you'd get the 50% Shock Damage Increase perk, your Shock weapon enchantments would increase.

The only solution I could think of would be to make a whole new magic school from scratch, move any "actual" destruction spell into it and have the mod affect that school instead, but honestly that workaround will probably produce even worse side effects as well as prevent the scaling of other destruction spells you may have gotten from mods.

I hate to disappoint, but there's nothing I can realistically do about this, it's just the way the game works.

Its a shame the mod is broken like that by the game's hardcoded mechanics... Oh well, its bethesda.

...Not that im complaining about even stronger enchantment and smithing, of course.

    I have novice destruction perk

Flames Spell says = 13 damage per second.

Now i put on Apprentice Destruction perk (It should be +10% more damage to all destruction spells? right?)

Flames Spell text still says "13 damage per second" after putting perk on apprentice destruction (No increase)

Will the text damage gonna be updated?

The text should be updated, so this is a sign the mod doesn't work for you. I just tested it and it works fine, so could you think of anything that is conflicting with the mod? Try removing both Apprentice and Novice destruction perks through console and re-adding them.

Okay we are now convinced that the ex-manager doesn't have a chance to win in court so we all went home. I had a chance to test the mod. Here is the result.

Ebony warrior is no longer able to Bash Disarm me...

In fact, Ebony does not Shield Bash, at all. Not even once. He simply stopped doing it.

What is going on? Why does Ebony Warrior stopped doing it altogether? Could it be because it was changed to illusion and Ebony Warrior simply cannot use it if it is in a different school? Does that mean that everyone is Skyrim who could previously Shield Bash will now stop doing it as well?

I might have spoken too soon. Earlier this week, I maxed my Two-Handed skill and placed some perk points into Two Handed. Ever since then, Ebony Warrior was dying way too fast so I stopped attacking him and only do blocking practice with him.

Today, while I was playing, I noticed that Ebony Warrior would only attempt to Bash Disarm me when he is actively using his shield... and he would only actively use his shied when he is being attacked. Since I was blocking the whole time with your mod active, I might not have given Ebony Warrior any chance to disarm me, but I mistaken that as a side effect from the mod.

I will play it more before I reach a conclusion. Sorry.

Just tested it again. The Ebony Warrior Tried to Bash Disarm me! Of course, he didn't succeed. The point is, everything is now functioning properly. Thank you!

Thank you for this mod. The truth is, more dmg to destruction spell based on levels and perks is all the game ever needs to make destruction spells a viable option; nothing more, nothing less. Hopefully your mod will finally make destruction worthwhile.

Okay here is my report. I have been training with Ebony Warrior for a long time, and because my character is at a very high level, each time the Ebony warrior try to disarm me, a msg would say that my character is too powerful to be disarmed. After installing your mod, I have been constantly disarmed by Ebony Warrior. I have never been disarmed, ever, before installing this mod. But now I get disarmed at least five times each time I fight him.

This might me some sort of mod conflict. I'm fairly new to modding, however I know for certain I didn't mess with any disarm effects at all. I suggest you try turning my mod off and see if the problem still persists, as it might be a coincidence. If the problem is gone when my mod is turned off, try to adjust the load order. I'll go into the Creation Kit and see if I might have edited some disarm settings accidentally meanwhile.

      EDIT:
I have double-checked in the Creation Kit and the Disarm shout and even the Disarm effect in general are not even remotely touched by this mod. I've also checked the Ebony Warrior and he does not have any perk that this mod changes, so this should not affect him in any way. Do you have any mods that are changing the way Disarm works?

I uninstalled the mod and now I am once again too powerful to be Bash Disarmed; just the way it is supposed to be. I don't have any mod that touches disarm, either. This is really weird.

Hm, let me check the Bash Disarm as I might have missed that. He did not disarm you with a shout, right? If I remember you have to be 80 to fight the Ebony Warrior and Disarm shout only works at people level 30 or lower (why does the EB even have it?).

EDIT: I have figured out the issue. The effect PerkBashDisarm is part of the Destruction School in the CK, and even though the EB warrior does not have the destruction perks, the mod somehow still affects the magnitute of his bash disarm perk. I will tone it down manually and see if it works (however this will also affect all other users of the perk, including the player character).

I think I've fixed the problem but I am unable to check myself (unless I spawn the Ebony Warrior). Please try the updated version and tell me if the issue persists.

Um thank s for the fix. I'm now at work but will report back when I get a chance.

In a way I think you got lucky because this problem could have been hidden and never been reported since no one would ever think Bash Disarm and Destruction would be remotely related. But luck has it that one of the very first person that tried this mod just happened to camped outside the Last Vigil and has been training with the Ebony Warrior for the past few days. (I use him to level up all my skills.)

No. I didn't only fix the Ebony Warrior, I lowered the whole effect of the Disarm "spell" (as it is in the Creation Kit) from 99 to 40. This means that anyone with the Disarming Bash perk will only have 40 magnitute (which is increased by Destruction). However, I realised this solution is not good enough, because this essentially breaks/weakens the Disarm effect for anyone that does not have Destruction (including the player character, if you do not use Destruction perks).

Thus I have uploaded version 1.2. I think I've fixed this drawback by changing magnitude back from 40 to 99 (so it works for everybody), but changed the school from Destruction to Illusion, so that this mod will not affect the Disarm effect. Would you please download the newest version and tell me if it also works as a fix? (Sorry for the inconvenience, I have no means to test it myself at the moment.)

You wouldn't believe this! I was just about to start another round of Skyrim when I got a call from work. We are getting sued! Some disgruntled ex-manager is suing us for unlawful termination and hostile work environment and stuff. We have to pull an all-nigher to get our documents ready. I will try your mod tomorrow.

He is suing us for $10,000!

Just for the record we had every reason to fire him. If there was ever a hostile environment he was solely responsible for it. His constant bad mouthing was in bad taste and lowered company morale.

Haha, ouch, no problem. I've patched a few other issues in the meantime (some major ones), and I've done some testing myself. I'm fairly sure that Destruction should no longer amplify Shield Bash magnitude, but if it still does then I still have one more idea to try out before calling quits.

If I do call quits however, you'll have to deal with the Ebony Warrior disarming you.
Sadly if I lower the magnitude directly it will hurt everything that does not use Destruction, and the EW is perhaps one of the only few foes that both uses Shield Bash and Destruction, meaning that only he has the empowered Shield Bash and not "common" NPCs. At that point you might as well consider it a difficulty increase rather than a bug, that guy is like three heads taller than you anyway. Of course, that's only if my fixes do not work. :P

Haha thanks. Anyone else training with Ebony Warrior want to give this a try? I'm sure I'm not the only one camped at the Last Vigil just so we can fight Ebony Warrior everyday and increase the stats.

BTW, this is such huge BS. My goal this week originally was boosting my HP over 2000, but now instead I have to wrap up three days' worth of production today so we could appear in court this Friday. What the hell!!!

Just make sure to get the newest version (v1.3). v1.2 is very bugged and doesn't increase damage on later levels.
