Low key still the BEST dual wield blocking mod available for any version of Skyrim. Y'all can keep your Elden Ring mods. The directional variant of his simple mod makes dual wielding exactly what it should be.
  3. im confused what button do you use to block

I don't know if it's been already reported, and i'm not 100% sure if this mod was the cause, but i had a bug where only dual wielding worked right but using 1 handed weapons + nothing, 1 handed weapons + shield, and 2 handed weapons my attacks didn't register half of the time, almost like it was a random chance of the attacking input being even registered by the game. Again, i'm not accusing this mod of anything, because i lack the knowledge to check if this was indeed the cause, but i only have a handful of mods installed and this is the only one that messed with attack behavior, so i deleted the mod, downloaded the other version (the one where the attacking arm depends on where you're moving), and the bug was gone, and i'm glad it is, because it ruins the game big time, if you have a similar problem and happen to be using the "random arm" version of this mod, try removing it and see what happens, it fixed my game.

Oh yes, and i also used this mod to "clean" my save, i had the typical " you removed stuff blah blah" warning, no bugs or anything but i cleaned it just to make sure and remove the annoying warning message, it's made for SE skyrim, but for some reason it works on oldrim too, i didn't want to download some shady .exe or fiddle with code so this was perfect, you just extract the 3 .txt files on your skyrim folder (skyrim folder, where your skyrim.exe is, not the data folder where you put mods), then you load your save, open the console and type "bat reset", then use the wait option ingame and wait 2 hours, then you open the console again and type "bat start", wait 2 hours again and do a regular save (manual save, no quicksaving or triggering an autosave), after saving open console again and type "bat kill", your character dies, wait til the game reloads your last save, then save again (manually), then quit the game to desktop and re-launch it, it works and is very easy for us dummies who barely know how to mod the game.

I'm sorry for the big text, but i find this bug to be game breaking and i didn't find any fix anywhere, so i wanted to leave this here if anyone runs into the same problem as i did

EDIT: a bonus for anyone having animation problems when using the dual wielding blocking, download this, extract the dw1hm1hmidle.hkx file to Data\meshes\actors\character\animations (if you lack any of these folders just create one), now your idle animation while dual wielding is more natural and relaxed, and when you block the game uses the old fancy swords-over-your-head vanilla animation, it's not the same you see in first person, but it looks believable and provides a clear visual cue for when you're blocking, without this i had a hard time telling if i was blocking or not

When I block in first person it raises the sword. When I block in 3rd person I sort of lean back arms slightly open. I have tried everything. Help.

It's been a long time, but still.

I use this mod, along with others, here they are: Combat behavior improved, Dual Wield Improved Animation. And a patch for Dual Wield Parrying v1. 7, but I do not know where you can download it, since I downloaded almost all of it from a Russian-language site and I am afraid that the rules do not allow you to leave links.

Sorry, I don't know much English.

Seriously this mod is excellent, I find the two button smashing in vanilla very clunky, I'm using the random version of this mod alongside CGO, Ultimate combat, wildcat, etc, and they all synergize very well together. The only issue I have is sometimes the dual wield bash animation bugs, but I barely use bashing specially dual wielding so no problems, thanks a lot

@moljka Neat mod, i stumbled across it today, and have to say it works marvelous, one minor bug however, for some odd reason whenever using a crossbow instead of firing a bolt it uses it to punch people as if using the unarmed punching animations, however the cross bow bash works just fine. (Using the normal version not random one)

The issue with crossbows not firing is because the mod does not forward Dawnguard's changes. The fix is very simple.

Open up Dawnguard and this mod in xEdit, then forward the CrossBow ANAM element to a new patch esp. It should look like this => https://imgur.com/a/TtC60HE

Then after that, rerun FNIS if you have it. If you dont, then obviously its not necessary.
