You need to go back into your Creation Kit and generate your Follower's Facegen data so that it removes the "grey head" bug.

And when you are done, you need to go into your Skyrim directory and then copy the necessary files and package them into an updated file for uploading on the Nexus.
To locate your extra files, you need to go into Skyrim< Data< Meshes / Textures< Actors< Character< facegendata< facegeom< (Your plugin's name).esp< (follower id).dds / (follower id).nif. Copy these two files and their directory folders (I suggest you manually recreate a folder path and then just copy and paste the plugin's .esp folders into their respective locations.
You should also peruse the Nexus for some male hair mods and then learn how to make them standalone for your follower, and then look for some textures that make The Drunk Bastard actually look like a unkempt, sloppy, ragged, dirty, scrapper of a follower (Really a stumbler). Maybe even give him some random dialogue were he starts mumbling some muses to himself like bandits do when you are sneaking by them. And you could give the bugger some of those ragged trousers by making a custom outfit in the CK, and assigning it to him? Fits much more to his character, and you could probably throw in some sailor's boots and a custom set of brawling gloves, which can have the vanilla male hands with a retexture to make his knuckles look bruised like he has been in bar fights.
I can help teach you some of this stuff if you want me to.
