Care to tell us exactly what was wrong with the mod? The people commenting before you seem satisfied enough.

Not sure if anyone follows or checks up on this mod anymore, but I really want to mention how much I enjoyed this. It scratches a certain itch I got from games like Dishonored or any number of novels where you have a dark urban medieval/colonial setting. I love feeling like you're going through devastated and abandoned parts of a much larger city around you, stumbling across a few survivors whose minds have been twisted and have their own agendas and reasons for being there against a surprisingly fleshed out background for the city itself - well done considering you created with just four journals! I wish Bethesda would make an Elder Scrolls game with a setting like this, something like a massively expanded Imperial City with the associated dark overtones of a collapsing Empire and the Thalmor and so on. I suppose then I might just be playing Dishonored again, but mods like this make me think how well it would work with TES lore and settings.

Also, for anyone who downloads this, I really recommend grabbing something like Bleak ENB and especially any mod that darkens dungeons, especially for the final boss. You'll be surprised at how good a scare you'll get out of it.

It's at the far west end of the northern coast, just south of where Castle Volkihar will be if Dawnguard is installed. Apologies for the lack of quest marker.

Be sure to download the newest version if you can, which has been cleaned up a bit.

That town does not have a marker. You need to walk to there.

The town is south from Castle Volkihar and west from the Jetty (one you ride to go to Castle Volkihar).

Ok, i commented here a long time ago, but just now came to the place. Thanks for this, seriously. The very first time i enjoyed and had a different feeling while playing Skyrim, after the Lost Vale in Dawnguard. Actually i'm still in the middle, had to stop playing to work, but i can tell for sure how much i love this.

At first, when i started walking, it remembered me much of Champions of Norrath, the steampunk feeling and everything, and then suddenly i felt like i was in Prince of Persia Warrior Within again. I could imagine me jumping and running in the walls. After i entered the market, somrthing more hit me. I went back in my memories, to a time that i barely remember, after all, i was too young. Old games, old memories about some scary crap in windows, childsh fears... This is more than simple nostalgia for me.
The place is silent, no enemies around, you feel safe, at the same time that you know something very wrong is in the air... It can almost touch you. The animals crying, the rain....
The city is so beautiful, too. Reminded me a lot of Thief. I just entered the Alik'r Temple, and how i was scared with that innocent fear, listening to that sound while walking in some sort of maze.

Really, i don't even know what to say. An amazing mod, a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks again neontarkus.
Of course there are a lot of errors with the environment, like clipping walls, but they don't affect the gameplay.
I have a lot of SS here, will send later. I wouldn't mind if another dark mod like this come out
Another thanks, i am enjoying this a lot ^^

Ok, played it to the end. I don't think there is nothing more to say, just... What are we supposed to do with the dwarven mechanism, with the sounds? :p
Wait, i should really add something: THAT SOUND IN THE CEMETERY, THAT SINGING SWORDS!!! <3

I enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. The aesthetic and design of the environments felt quite different than most Skyrim mods, while capitalizing on and extending the atmosphere I think Skyrim does so well in the Reach region--the heady mix of raw, primal nature corrupting mortals and becoming a magnet for ambition and madness. Broken, flooded lands; broken, flooded minds. And the journals were an excellent reflection of this as well. I'm looking forward to your future projects.

Interesting and atmospheric environments, rough in spots, some unfinished architecture where your character can get stuck. A bit empty though, a few more enemies would be welcome.

Decided to try out the mod after you pushed the clean-up update, got to say I'm rather impressed! Reminds me a lot of the Souls games, but without feeling narrowly copy-pasted like certain others.

High praise indeed! As a non-console gamer, I have limited experience with the Souls games, but really admire their bleak aesthetic and experiments with difficulty. I'm glad to hear this reminds people of non-ES games, as the followup is going to stray even more from the standard formula.

Neon. I second this. Very impressive. played a small bit before I had to wipe my entire skyrim. :/ Hate when you have to do that. But loved it. You have a lifetime supporter here. Keep up the amazing work!

Seems to be quite a few navmesh problems, so bringing a follower with you is a no go.

Asides from that, did you ask permission from Zerofrost regarding his Knight of Thorns armor set?

Yes, I probably should have specified sooner that this isn't built for companions. I've edited the description to try and make this clear. While I may make a follower-friendly mod at some point, I prefer solo play, and would rather focus on the level and story than navmeshing non-combat areas.

I did not use the Knight of Thorns armor set, or any content from other mods, so your second comment is a bit confusing. Perhaps it showed up in a leveled chest somewhere? If so, that would be Zerofrost's doing, not my own.
