This mod is no longer supported by me. Modding Bethesda games was fun, but I have moved on. I won't update any of my mods. However, any mod author may use my mods in any way they want, be it further updates or new mods based on them, compilations or whatever you can think of. No permission needed, just give credit please. Thanks to Beth for the great games, and a big thanks to those who downloaded and endorsed, and an extra thanks to those who tested and provided feedback. See you soon on Fallout 4 Nexus
I know you don't do this mod anymore or update it. I recently tried this mod out. Uninstall it and now everybody and all NPC have " barter with you " Tiwce nice...
How do I removed it now? I have removed it from NMM but its still shows up in game? and there no plug in I see for this mod..
GEM is an understatement, as someone playing Requiem as a roving trader, this is a must-have.
A suggestion, if anyone ever decides to: Chances of denial. For instance, 60% chance of denial, 40% chance of them trading. If you see a wandering trader, most people would not want to trade with you.
Downloaded this as an add-on for Khajiit Speak and I have to say I was hesitant at first, but this mod has quickly won me over. It's very immersive being able to bargain with random people on the street. Handy if your character objects to picking pockets and yet balanced as it's going to cost you a lot more convincing someone to part with their treasured ring than it would to pick it off of them. I also loved being able to fence things to random npcs. Though I quickly learned I was going to need an actual fence if I didn't plan on being broke as selling them a stolen book for 5 gold meant buying it back for 300. Wealthier residents are your best bet for having a little extra cash for selling things, so learning who they are can be handy. And if you do happen to pick pockets, bartering is a great way to get a sneak peak at what they have and then decide if it's worth attempting to lift when they're not looking. All in all, great addition. When I stop playing a Khajiit, I'll definitely be replacing it with this.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48293/? - This mod goes along great with this as it allows more money to be potentially gained from selling things
I am using a ton of mods, including follower-overhaul mods like "Big Dialogue Overhaul", "Better Followers", "My Home Is Your Home", "CS Tag and Track".
This works very well with all my mods, no conflicts and adds a greater level of immersion to the game. It is not the same as pickpocketing, as I get different NPC inventory, if I try to pickpocket them. :-)
You're correct in one sense. It's not the same as pickpocketing as it doesn't level your pickpocketing. Bartering levels speechcraft the same as selling, which is handy for people who use it as an alternative to picking pockets.
As for the inventory difference, I think it depends on who you're pickpocketing. If the NPC is loosely associated with a merchant (ex. Mikael in the Bannered Mare or Romlyn Dreth at Black Briar Meadery), they will be tied to the merchant chest in that given location. This means they will still have their own unequipped items for sale in addition to whatever the merchant in that location would have for sale. The downside to this is that any NPCs that fall under this grouping will have a shared cash pool as well. So selling to Romlyn Dreth and Niluva Hlaalu and Ungrien (the actual innkeeper merchant) will only give you Ungrien's cash pool, but each will sell his items in addition to their own. From what I could tell, the loose association seems to apply to NPCs that tend to spend the bulk of their time in the given location. So, Hulda, Saadia, and Mikael share Hulda's merchant chest for instance, since they all spend their time at the Bannered Mare.
This may not be something the mod author could remedy, as this shared chest mechanic existed in the main game. For instance, without this mod, Saadia and Hulda still shared a merchant chest and would buy and sell the same items with a shared cash pool. In other words, if you sold Saadia a ton of food and then dashed over to Hulda to unload more, you'd be outta luck. With this mod, that mechanic is still in place, however, they will now sell you their items as well. So, Hulda would have her own personal inventory in addition to whatever is in the merchant chest and Saadia would have her own personal inventory in addition to the merchant chest. You cannot buy items from Hulda's personal inventory from Saadia as they don't share those items. Likewise you would not be able to pickpocket items from the merchant chest as it does not exist in a reachable place and they do not carry the items on their person.
I noticed some old comments where you mentioned that you were unable to link this to the Speech perk tree before CK was released. Now that CK is around can you maybe give it another go? I would love to see a subtree added to the Speech tree. Maybe called "Bartering" to tie in with your mod name & to be dependent on at least 1 perk point enabled in Haggling?

This mod inspired me to expand on this concept and create my own (Immersive Speechcraft: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63874/).
"it would be nice if they could decline to barter depending on your Speech skill."
^Would be a really neat touch.
You just make my skyrim much immersive. Love it

Endorsed and thank you.
