NO Texture files or Mesh files to worry about!  What this means is: a very simple, smooth installed, .esp file only, in which the default values of the in-game torch have been edited to produce a brand new in-game torch which provides realistic lighting ranges, realistic color hues, and realistic flickers!  Once you’ve Subscribed and Activated this mod you will have an in-game torch that is as close to a real-life torch as is possible in TESV!


Further Torch Value Enhancements Include: A Guaranteed Full Skyrim’s Night Continuous Burn, to make things less micro-manage, I set the burn time to a real-life 24hrs!  This torch will only burn out if you leave it equipped for an actual real-time 24hrs!  I also went with the gold, arrows, and lock pick’s standard and changed the torch carry weight to 0 carry weight!  It will be easy to carry spare torches for Potential Followers you meet along the way, as having weightless spare torches in your inventory is no longer a matter of carry weight debate.  Also the enhanced values apply to *all* equipable torches in the whole game!

So, to recap highlights: No Weight - 24hr Real-Time Lifespan - Realistic Color Glow - Increased Radius (Realistic Radius) - Realistic Flicker Rate!

Final Thoughts: This torch is NOT an overpowered over brightened monstrosity demolishing all immersion and enjoyment in the game -- This Torch IS realistically balanced to provide real-life radius and brightness levels; the only OP changes are the absurdly long burn time, but it’s more convenient that way when you play with real needs and real climates and real survival hardcore modes!  You’ve got to find actual food, locate fresh water sources, stock up water skins, find wood or branches for a fire, and establish a working campsite before nightfall; or else you will freeze to death, starve to death, or just become woefully sick to the point that you just want to crawl back to being a “milk drinker!”  With all of that going on, who has time to hunt around dungeons for torches or to use valuable life-saving firewood just to make a silly torch which burns out in 4 in-game minutes!!!!  And that is why I made the torch last a real-time 24hrs!  You *never* have to worry about the torch again!  So, back to killing wolves, finding twigs, and locating that illusive life-saving waterfall!

Conclusions: I have spent weeks and weeks “stress testing” this mod; as I do with all my mods.  On average I will spend a whole month putting my own mods through every conceivable scenario to ensure maximum compatibility across all the spectrums!  First: Activate Mod, Load Game, Save Game, Deactivate Mod, Load Game - [no problems].  Load Old Save File Fully Progressed Character - [no problems].  Activate Mod, Start New Game, Play For At Least Six Hours, Travel All Of Skyrim, On Foot, On Horseback - [no problems].  Load, Save, Load, Activate, Deactivate, With Mod, Without Mod - [no problems].  Mod Activated: New Values - Mod Deactivated: Default Values - Seamless and Flawless Transition - NO CTD Old Saves, New Games, With DLC, Without DLC - [no problems].  Old PC, Skyrim standard No DLC - [no problems].  Gaming PC, Skyrim fully modded: 190 Community Mods Active, DLC Active - [no problems].

In short, all my mods get tested on two computers, one without DLC - only Skyrim basic installed and one with DLC and my massive collection of downloaded mods totaling 191 mods!!!! - which includes SKSE and SkyUI!  I have hand picked the very Best Immersive Mods available across the internet and I use all of them for all of my gameplay, then add to that my own mods totaling well over 200!  This mod works flawless with all of those mods active, in use - 200+!

***Required Master Game File(s) Installed*** : Skyrim.esm : NO DLC, ADD-ONS, REQUIRED!
(if you don’t have that, you can’t even play lol) - Base Game - Default, ‘Vanilla’ Mod.
***Required Other Mods*** : NONE : Does NOT Require SKSE or SkyUI.

~KNOWN ISSUES~

1. In-Game lighting and shadow values resulting in occasional light clipping around multiple light sources.  This is an in-game bug and is present with default torch as well, it is present with all lighting in the whole game.  Therefore this is *not* worth reporting as a mod issue.  It is an unchangeable Bethesda programming bug within the base files of the software itself.  Simply ignore any lighting anomalies around multiple light sources i. e. most commonly a dark casting shadow where the light is ineffective on the ground where there are three or more light sources present, but then lights up as you pan your camera around: that is inside the base software files themselves and only a complete software overhaul of the base game files will solve that issue.  Having completed weeks of “stress testing” my mod for viability and versatility I have found no other issues directly related to the modifications I have made.  I’ve simply changed default numeric values in the edit box and the game receives the changed values as easily as it’s own default values -- thus; the game does not even notice the changes made and the torch remains as ‘vanilla’ as it was to begin with for maximum versatility with all other mods!  However, any other mod altering the same values placed lower in the Load Order of this mod in Data Files will overwrite this mod making this mod of no effect, as the game uses the last mod in the Data Files Load Order when two or more mods edit the same values.  Don’t forget that. ;)
