Q: Jaxonz has the EXACT SAME MOD, Jaxonz Protect Favorites! Stupid. A: Not so. The latest version of Jaxonz Protect Favorites just marks items as quest items, and the latest version is a bit broken too. 0.5 of Jaxonz Protect Favorites is similar to this, but not entirely. This mod handles disarming; this mod is far more configurable; and, most importantly - this mod isn't JUST for favorites. You can mark any item as a keepsake - also without cluttering up the favorites menu. I had seen JPF before I started this mod, but didn't remember its existence until halfway thru development when someone mentioned it.
Q: Why can't I mark consumables as keepsakes?!1111 A: I initially was going to have this possible, but there was an issue - if an item was a keepsake and a potion/food piece, equipping it to eat/drink it would actually fire the event, so Keepsakes would ask if you were sure you wanted to remove the item. I tried to fix it, but the solution was only partial, b/c the game was acting a bit weird and sometimes sent the event for "I equipped an object" AFTER trying to remove it. When that happened, it completely bypassed my solution and still had the same issue.
Q: So... I marked my enchanted/improved item as keepsake, but your mod is saying that nonenchanted/nonimproved version of that item is a keepsake too....? A: I knew going in that this would be an issue. However, the benefits of the method I went with far outweighed this issue, and so I decided to make it this way - and unless I have a sudden change of heart, it's going to stay this way. The current implementation of the mod is easier, cleaner, and more efficient.
Q: Why does it not protect in crafting or disenchanting? A: Because that's not part of the mod. Disenchanting already confirms. Crafting MIGHT be added in a later addition, but I'm really busy at the moment, so don't count on it.
Q: How many keepsakes can I have? A: As many as you want.
tried this mod - did not protect items from consumption by other mods, like a "smelters". Not endors it for use. Already use onother one "Jaxonz Protect Favorites", but it contains an itemweight bug for favoured items
Does this work with, say, werewolf or jailtime forced unqeuip? For instance, if my wood elf has some custom antlers equipped as an item that are set as keepsakes, and I get sent to Cidnah Mine in a quest, will it still unequip my antlers?
Does this actually prevent me from selling, or just ASK if I WANT to sell? I play with a controller, and I'm afraid when I have a ton of items to sell, I might accidentally confirm selling when I'm repeatedly hitting the 'A' button...
Edit: So now that I'm viewing this on PC instead of mobile, I can see the background image seems to show that "no" is set as the default answer. Trying this mod now. :)
Edit: The hotkey seems to be hit or miss... Sometimes nothing happens, and while I pressed the hotkey over at least 15 items, only 7 got marked according to the MCM. This seems to be item specific; the ones that didn't get marked I tried multiple times, but the message in the corner saying it's been marked as a keepsake never showed up, and I can still drop/sell them without incident. These are weapons and clothing/armor, so it SHOULD work... They're modded items, but I was able to flag other modded items without a problem. So even with this mod, I'd still have to run around naked while selling items so I don't mess up, lol. Guess I'll be uninstalling. :(
Would use your mod if you would include the smelter and tanning rack. Why dont you just include the smelter and tanning rack? CCO does not work fo rme. I did put it up to 30 and it still shows my gear.
does this also work for goin to prison or thalmor ambassy or some other thing that takes away your items? cuz i want to keep the ears and tail on my character equiped.
Nope. This mod does not keep me from accidentally removing items from my inventory? If you update this mod, would you please add this feature? Thank you.

This mod allows you to do that selectively, but not for every single item in your inventory (since that would then cause problems everytime you tried to sell an item).
If anyone does, I give full permisison for it to be uploaded and I'll link it if someone PMs me to let me know. However, I'm not active in the modding scene right now and won't do it myself.
If you drop a favorite item, and click 'No don't remove it', it will no longer be marked favorite agan! Also, for some reason, it didn't work with containers for me, I don't want to accidentally store the keepsaked item!
