A near-complete version of Religion 3.0 has been uploaded.

Since version 3.0 is still not entirely complete, I am leaving the description for the 2.x version up on the Legendary Edition page, while the 3.x description will be on the Special Edition page.

    LE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67663/
    SE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25487

What I have left to finish before I will consider the mod complete:
-Finish implementing Gifts for Nocturnal, Peryite, Sanguine, Sheogorath, and Vaermina.
-Finish implementing Shrouds for all Ancient Spirits. So far there are only two shrouds implemented for Sithis.

-Write Visions for All Deities, there are only a handful written for the Divines so far.
-Write more in-game flavor text (Load Screens, In-Game Books, etc.)

Super clunky and buggy on the V3 download. The "visions" kept bugging out and teleporting me to the last area I exited. Wintersun is a better alternative that does basically the same things if you're looking for a more stable mod.

Thank you for this awesome mod. I really enjoy it and I think it really added the much needed depth to the concept of religion in the game, while keeping it simple and not going over the top. Unfortunately however, today I encountered a somewhat funny issue that breaks the blessing given by Arkay:

Naturally, he hates undead of any kind, including draugrs. So, having prayed to him enough, I received two blessings from him upon entering combat with a bunch of draugrs. One gave me both protection and bonus damage against undead, the other one gave me instant health boost by 150 points.

Cool, isn't it? I think it is.

Except, as soon as the combat ended those blessings are immediately taken back, which means I lost the health bonus instantly. Having had lost enough hp already during combat, this was sufficient to deplete my health bar completely and kill me.

I didn't immediately quit the game and tried this a couple more times. Not only I faced the same issue every single time, but also found out that this can also trigger injuries from combat mods, even if you survive. Hinting that the game actually treats this kind of health loss as damage.

You can do the same with "setav health xx" command as well: If the target actor had already lost enough portion of it's health, it dies instantly upon getting the health points decreased, unless the decrease isn't severe enough. So this is due to a game mechanic rather than an actual bug, apparently.

So, anyway. I'm not a modder and I'm afraid I lack the knowledge and/or skill to fix it myself by tinkering with the files unless it's really easy to do. If it is, then can someone explain to me how? Or better yet, tell me if there's any other fix or workaround for this problem that I don't know of? Perhaps a mod or some tweak which makes this kind of 'damage' non-lethal?

Else, even though I'd hate to do it, I will be forced to remove this mod from my list. It isn't something that completely ruins the game, I know. Yet I don't want a divine rendered useless due to a technical problem, as it would ruin the immersion for me, which is what I play this game for in the first place.

I'd be glad if I can get help on this. Thanks in advance. And apologies for any kind of grammar mistakes etc, as English isn't my native language.

I love the concept of this mod -- thank you, Irondusk33, for all your work and for uploading it!!!

Sadly, my first few hours trying it out (v.3.0) were heavily bugged:

    • It was giving me the message about combat interrupting prayer when my character wasn't praying
    • It wasn't letting me select the shrine again after starting prayer (no activator)
    • It was getting my character stuck in the prayer pose, unable to open menus or do anything except the "esc" menu for save/load/MCM/etc
    • And when my character could get up and move, it seemed collision had been turned off as he was running through walls, people, out into the void beyond cell boundaries.
    • But none of those issues was happening 100% of the time - they were taking turns. Very polite of them, at least.

I list all these not as a complaint, but as a note to the mod author if he still looks at this, and in case anyone else is having these issues.

I'm going to try downgrading to the last 2.x version, as I saw an earlier commenter suggest he hadn't had any problems with that. Otherwise, shrines might just be broken irreparably for the rest of my current playthrough.

This has happened to me with beta 3 as well. No response to the previous report so I’ll assume this is a dead project and downgrade to 2.x

I've noticed that Survival Mode prevents prayer at shrines with this mod, is there any plans to release a compatibility patch?

This is the Skyrim Legendary Edition version.

      Here's the SE version.

If you're using LE mods in SE, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a conflict with SE's survival mode.

Is there a way to add prayer rugs into this?  A way to have the character roll out a small rug to kneel on when praying?  I think it would add something, especially if there were different types of craftable or purchasable rugs, perhaps with the different gods represented on them.

Hey so I saw a few people talking about Wintersun in the comments, but mostly about if they'll be using that mod, or this one. I'm super interested to know if they are compatible though! I love the idea of having multiple religion mods to be able to customize exactly what I want when I make a character.

I use both. While I haven't investigated in-depth the existence of conflicts, I can't say I've run into any issues, either. Mostly I use this for the meditation aspect, which is a nice touch that fits well with all the meditating going on up the mountain. It also allows any Dunmeri characters I have to follow all three Reclamations, with their "main" patron being the one in Wintersun to depict a more active role.

Hello! Just as a question... are you still planning to finish it or you don't plan to continue working on this mod?

I just wish there was a source either on the mod page, or in game somewhere that said exactly what each deity does and does not consider a sin. I keep getting sins with a deity, and I have no idea what causes it. Makes it incredibly hard to debug, to figure out if it's a glitch, or if I keep fucking up something.

On a related note, does anybody know what Dibella considers a sin?

Had to delete the mod, that 0% weapon speed from meditating to the Lady stone is big ol' no no
