Simple and straightforward, does exactly what I want it to, no muss and no fuss. Nice one.

Quite good for people to disenchant unique armor for something better. You should also make it compatible with Afterlife.

I tested this with some items on Requiem and it worked very well. The helmet I enchanted had the enchantment removed with the smithing improvements and Requiem values remaining intact (which is an improvement over previous mods I have used for this task). The Gauldar Amulet, and a pre-enchanted item were left untouched as well.

This is definitely something that was missing in the game, and will allow enchanting to be more fluid since the enchantments can now be improved too.

could make so that we can do exactly that but to an especific item, through an enchanting table even if we already know the enchantment (true disenchanting), without (or with little chance, skill based) breaking the item if you already know the enchantment... it could also allow you to disenchant uniques and relics, if you have a high enough enchanting skill <.<...
(Would need to be compatible with Wintermyst but seems to be highly needed when you want to re-enchant that awesome armor you have without having to find a new one...)

Also, does anyone know of a mod that makes higher leveled NPC's have more enchanted equipments, based on their level and fighting/"playing" style, so humanoid enemies get stronger just by having better equips? (I use Loot and Degradation, so they have items in different tempering levels, but it does nothing for enchantments, and I'd like my enemies to seem as caring to their gear... I'd also like something that adds adventurers almost as strong or stronger with an inventory as full as my own through the world that might be friend or for, just as if I'm not the only "epic leveled human" after level 30 or so, in the world or so full a inventory... most people seem to be carrying less than 200 at most times, even with all the added loot, it's really hard to find anyone with more than 15 items with them and just potions, I seem to have a full alchemist's store stock with me, while everyone carries 2 if too much...)

Thank you for this. I feel that it would be slightly more immersive as a ritual spell. Perhaps a master alteration spell that you need to buy after the ritual spell quest?

If someone else wants to make something more out of this, they are welcome to, but I'm pretty much done with it as is. It has achieved its original goal. Originally, it was a spell, but it's rather hard to disenchant an equipped two handed weapon when you can't equip the weapon you want to disenchant because you have a spell in your hand.

Oh yeah, didn't think of that! Thought it would be easy at first, but I didn't think about the equip thing.

Hah, yeah I didn't either until I first tested it. I thought about making it a tactical spell in combat - cast soul release in a sticky situation to release all your enchanted souls and then you'd get a nice magic/health/stamina boost or something. An effect like Dragonskin could be really interesting.

That would be pretty cool. I probably wouldn't use it, but I'm sure other people would. Maybe make it a targeted spell and you have to drop the item and cast it?

Sounds very similar to Remove Enchantments.

Oh look a new sevencardz mod! Now I don't normally make requests but for you I'll make an exception
Any chance of a soul release that actually empties souls gems??
I know you can drop player filled ones to release them but found or purchased filled soul gems can't be released that way.
No biggie if you can't. But just thought I'd ask. Thanks and cheers

Well, I guess it's possible. Just run a script to go through the player's inventory and replace filled gems with empty ones. But, how practical would that be? If it nuked all of your soul gems, then you'd have to do some inventory management beforehand - like give your filled grand soul gems to your follower or something, at which point you might as well just drop the ones you want emptied on the ground. Purchased/found gems should always have the biggest soul in them possible, so why would you want to release it?

Thanks for your response. Role playing purposes only. I always try to give each of my characters something unique to do. Make jewellery, collect skulls / books / amulets, free soul gems, disenchant all magic items. You know, that sort of thing. As I said no biggie. I was just surprised to find you had released this mod when I searched for release soul. Might be time for me to learn some scripting. Cheers.

Ah OK, for RP purposes I can understand. Always important to know the goal behind a request. That'd be an entirely different solution compared to what this mod does though, so yeah, you'd have to do the legwork.

Thanks! I was just thinking about a mod like this. Now I don't need to find or buy new items of the same type just to upgrade their enchantments. Some mod-added items are unique and you can't get any more of them without cheating too, so that's also a plus.

I'll come back to endorse it when I get to try it later.

Me as well. I am playing Falskaar right now and there are no dragons. I wanted to enchant a new dragonbone bow, but I left all my dragon bones back in Skyrim. I was thinking, "Wish I could disenchant the bow I have so I could re-enchant it better."

      Great mod!
