Thank you all for the nice comments and feedback! Right now im learning the scripting part of the update i have in mind, it looks good and easier than i thought! It will probably take some time until the next update, because i dont want to upload something half-finished What im sure about for now is : there will be a dungeon beneath / besides the home, mid-size, you will have multiple build option on how to extend your home inside the dungeon, not sure about what options exactly and there will be some enemies inside!
Maybe, after all that i wil alsol upload a german version, if someone is interested in this.
Outstanding! So glad your getting to grips with the scripting aspect of modding. Kudos to you dude! So looking forward to seeing what you have in store for this great player home. Nice idea by the way!
So, i didnt find a good way to do the building system without hearthfire, thats no problem for me but maybe there are some people out there that dont have these DLCs. For them i will probably upload a version without the building system afterwards. Sorry for anyone without hearthfire :/
How's the update coming along dude? Do have a release date in mind yet? Hope the 'New' look 'Forgotten dwelling' is starting to take shape, very much looking forward to seeing it complete!
A well designed, small but not cramped, house. Exterior blends into the scenery pretty damn well. Perfect for non-college mages, witches and outlaw characters.
Did you, by any chance, considder making an extension to the base home? Something like buildable expansions, which would include additional dedicated chambers?
This is perfect, exactly what I was looking for! A hidden, atmospheric, lore-friendly place for my mage. Perfect size, decorated beautifully, and right in the middle of the map for convenient travel. Thanks for this, keep up the fantastic work!
I especially like the outside! pretty hidden indeed. I actually created my own hidden room using the mod Live anywhere through building a basement in the ruined building close to the destroyed watchtower near whiterun.
I would like a mod like this but my dark brotherhood character doesnt care much for Kynareth Also not sure if I like the custom assets that much! I do however like that u didnt add much over the top!
i really like this mod. it's in a nice location and is a damn nice size. i usually use it with another mod called hunter's run since it adds a lil lookout and some game nearby. i kinda wish there was a way to get onto the roof easily though i think it would make a lovely view. the two things i really wish it had though was a kids room and a greenhouse(ish room.)
Looks cool! Thanks for sharing. This is purely an idea, as a possible update, apart from cleaning with TSVEdit as gary62 suggested, could the home be expanded upon? perhaps via a secret door for instance. Now I'm not talking some kinda huge here, I'm just thinking "forgotten dungeon, could there be other parts of the dungeon still open to the inquisitive adventurer? A forgotten throne room with the skeletal remains of the long dead 'boss' perhaps or treasure vault even!"
Think you have created a great player home here and it's just a suggestion is all
A secret room actually doesnt sound that bad, I just dont want the home to be too big... maybe i could make a second version with more parts of the dungeon accessible? i will think about it! Thanks for the Suggestions
Glad you like the idea. If you can recall the original 'Conan' movie with Arnie, he comes across a sword hidden away inside a buried crypt along with a long dead king and his entourage, that's the kind of extra/hidden expansion room I was kinda talking about. It's just an example and purely a suggestion but this is such a cool mod it seems kinda of a shame not to add to the 'forgotten dungeon' feel you've created. I also appreciate that adding anything to excessive destroys the ambiance and originality of your creation!
Again, thank you for sharing and please keep on creating 'cause you've got some kinda of talent budd!
to be honest, i never watched that movie im afraid. but, my creation kit is open and im thinking about how to do something like that! Maybe you can find that scene on youtube etc. for inspiration?
But still, im struggling at how to expend it, without loosing the small and cozy feeling, but i will find something!
And maybe, i will upload a second version of the mod for a pure magic / necromancer type of character, i will do this for my next playthrough, if it does end up as a good second version i will upload that too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFRDMaSISCY There you go dude! Hopefully you'll find that inspirational. I also noticed the blockt portcullis gate inside the home, could that be used somehow to link a new area? The player has to clear the gate to enter perhaps? Just thoughts dude, just thoughts. Enjoy the clip!
i have no experience at scripting etc., the idea to clear the rubble is awesome. but i just dont know how i could do that Maybe i will find some tutorial for this kind of stuff... you have great thoughts there Thanks for the clip! Something like the crypt there would be awesome i think, i just dont know how to do this, yet. An Idea would be, that the player has to find the hidden area, and afterwards he could build the area back up. But thats way beyond my skills at the moment
Now that's an awesome idea dude! Glad you enjoyed the clip! Don't sell yourself short dude, scripting and such will come, you've really just started to mod, give yourself a chance to expand your knowledge base and at the same time give yourself a massive pat on the back for what you've achieved so far! Have you thought about asking for help with scripting and such like 'cause there are some fabulous modders out there who I'm sure would help, modders, especially like 'darkfox127' or 'LD50365' who have just 'cornered the market' so to speak with regards to 'rebuilding structures/locations' etc and I have seen their names credited by many other mod authors just needing that exact kind of input. Then there's the fabulous 'Elianora' who creates just the most stunning 'player home' and fills them with her very own scripted storage containers (I think there scripted but still fab regardless).
As I say budd, great mod so far! Check out the above modders work, the worst thing that can happen is they say no to helping out but I very much doubt that they would! Keep on ROCKING maestro!
darkfox has multiple tutorial videos about scripting, i guess i will watch those i had many mods of the modders you mentioned, yes they have great mods It will probably take me some days to learn this but i want to upgrade this mod with these ideas
On the same line of thinking. Something like this would be great for Drow characters going on the same line as this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27016/? story background.
Maybe a collapsed tunnel from some corridors of an old dungeon where the character arrives? It would work great with LAL alternate starts if it could be added.
Neat Idea and very well done for your second mod. I agree that adding a "secret room" or perhaps a place where the former owner/boss eternally rests would be a good idea. Maybe adding a short quest to clear and then refurbish the old ruin beneath the home.
