Your idea of her might not be too far off, actually. Saadia was, in truth, a traitor against Hammerfell who was on the run from the Alik'r, and may well have trained herself in the arts of an assassin to defend herself.
(And yes, while I know it's up to the player to decide individually who was what in that situation, based on how she acted in her conversations and how the Alik'r acted after turning her in, she seems significantly more suspicious than they do.)
Gonna have to +1 this. Hammerfell hates the Alderi Dominion even more than the Nords of Skyrim do. No Redguard with any loyalty to Hammerfell would dare accept a contract from the Thalmor.
There was always something fishy about her story. She seems to not know the Alik'r are after her when you break the news, yet she's aware of one being held in Dragon's reach?
I only sided with her because I kill everything Thalmor. Including their hired lackeys.
For me it was always of no meaning whether she said the truth or not. She hired me to protect her, the Alik'r were hired to catch her. What really happened, no one knows. As merc, the only thing I knew in this situation was to do my job right without lying to her.
@DoubleCyclone - ...and I in turn will +1 you. I've always said that this quest is hard to decipher if the player doesn't know the lore. If you know Hammerfell's story throughout the Great War, you'd know that Saadia is lying. As you said, "No Redguard with any loyalty to Hammerfell would dare accept a contract from the Thalmor." In regards to the Alik'r, loyalty to Hammerfell would count exponentially. Of course, the player themselves can fathom whatever story makes their choice "the right one" in their mind.
It's a Saadia replacer. IT's the same Saadia in the Bannered Mare that you always run into. She's the Redguard Woman the Alak'ir are looking for when you come back into Whiterun.
I set her up with her own textures using ECE, but it doesn't pull from the files ECE installs from. IT uses her own. When I tested her, I had ALL other mods uninstalled and she was fine. Even now, I have ECE uninstalled.
