Finally, a mod with an EXECUTIONER'S SWORD. Gosh, so disappointing that nobody else have added it to this game. Personally the rounded edges of the end of the blade isn't my aesthetic but hey, AN EXECUTIONER'S SWORD. So I'm giving it a download.
Seems like you're not in the modding community anymore, shame. But if you ever see this, thank you for adding such an unique and cool historical blade to Skyrim. Cheers!
Nice stuff, love these type of uniquely placed, unique weapon mods. Finding them feels so much more legit and rewarding then merely smithing them, as you would with other weapon add-ons.
Back when I made this mod, I used an external application to generate normal maps from the Diffuse texture, which is a really dumb way to do it as it turns out. What I've learnt is how to create normals from a higher Rez version of a model, which is what many other people do and which is basically an all round better way to do it. It's Double the work as I'll have to sculpt the Sword in higher resolution as well as a lower resolution version, but it'll be much higher detail if I do it right.
Procedural textures basically uses an algorithm that I create using a node system in blender (Called Blender Cycles) to generate the textures, allowing me to quickly make a texture that I can then muck about with in paint.net if needs be. It also allows me to create a texture with features depending on the geometry of the model (so, for example, I can make edges where they would naturally appear worn seem worn) Not to bad mouth anyone else who uses it to bake textures, but I suppose It's a kind of a "easy" process (although that's probably not the right word as it requires a different kind of complicated skill set) but I'm no artist. I can't hand paint a texture very well (See above for proof...) so It's the only way I can really do it, and if I can get it to behave as it should, it will create fairly high quality work.
I really haven't done the processes justice in my explanation, so you'd probably be best to go research it further if you are interested, and thank you for commenting
I did read your announcement about no further modding, but I thought to add this comment anyway: I like it how you made the blades thin. The pentaar blade is a bit too dull, in my opinion. Dafolak and Strunmah would look better with some more blood on them too, I think. On their blood textures of course.
Started work on it. Give it a couple days or so, and it will be done EDIT: Just finished it. Gonna do some tests, and tweak as necessary, and I will release it with the next update
