This is an excellent mod and much needed, even if you use SMIM. That said, there are a three meshes that should be removed if you use SMIM, do to conflicts (missing textures on ropes) as well as SMIM being the superior version regarding these three meshes (This mod reverts the awesome SMIM ropes with the vanilla rope meshes). SMIM does it own UV fixes on these meshes also, so these three are clearly not needed.

Zerwas, while I'm on my way to enabling parallax I've found that we all need riftencanalwood01 texture complimentary to your riftencanalplanks011 style and color cause this vertical wooden bars look strange with different textures from other packs. I've checked your mods and not found any riftencanalwood01
Added a file, but it's not perfectly fitting. Maybe it's ok so? Those railings are mechanicly cutted by skyrim's lumberwills, I think it's fine without parallax. Riften is already one of the cities taxing the gpu. On the other hand years of being a river city could deform those railings a bit and make parallax realistic. I think it's a matter of taste. My Riften is already a bit low on frames, that's why I haven't added it. The _p.dds was in case somebody has an according mesh and for you :-) Tell me if it's too strong or just set the contrast down.

Skyrim uses the Canalwood only for the railing. Sorry, not everybody knows that. The Canal walls are extra and have no UV problem. I added it to the description.

All the rest of the meshes are not touched by SMIM, so this mod is still highly recommended.

can you name your 7z files? its hard to remember which releases they are when named "main files" etc.
