I already posted this, but I'm going to make a sticky post here so that it doesn't get lost. Someone asked earlier about where to find the Lemonflower songs that are included in this mod, because the iTunes link next to her name on the description page is different music. Answer: She goes by coffeescup on youtube. I included in the mod her covers of traditional songs that she made available via Creative Commons. I bought the itunes album and keep the link posted for others as a sort of thank you for the freely available music she posted.
Which leads to this general comment and the reason for the sticky post: It is sooooooo hard to find music that does not have copyright restrictions that would prevent me from using it in this mod. That is why the link to iTunes. For similar reasons, I keep the bandcamp link posted for Saskia. I myself do not accept donations for this mod, but if anyone wants to throw a dollar toward any of the musicians, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated. Of course, there are also other ways to show support that don't involve money at all. If you enjoy this mod and the music in it, please give the musicians some positive feedback and subscribes on their youtube channels! Many thanks.
Just FYI: There will be no further updates or responses from the mod author for the non-SE edition of this mod. All modding time for Skyrim is now focused on SSE. You can find the SE version of this mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2303/?
A question about the work that Viarmo has for me after my Bard level reaches 50:
I'm not at 50 yet and I received a courier note from Viarmo saying he had bard work for me. When I spoke to Viarmo he gave me a radiant quest to perform for a random Jarl. Is this different than the work he will have for me after my bard level reaches 50 or am I somehow getting Viarmo's work quests early?
Otherwise I've been using the new version of this mod for 20 levels with no issues. Being able to access the names of the songs has been so nice. The only request I would make is for you to retitle the songs to indicate which ones require several parts. Yes, you can tell by ear, but it would be really fantastic to know right off the bat. Also, I admit I have a hard time remembering which ones require accompaniment and which don't.
found the menue for changing the instruments, but there is only a first and a secondary instrument. So I play the first, and all my followers the same secondary...
As I said: I recorded, flute, lute and drums. Is there any way to set a third instrument? Otherwise all my followers will play the same "secondary" instrument.
i followed all the instructions and used the mod configuration menu to check. the files of my own music are detected in game but when i play them there is no sound at all. is there any way to fix this?
You asked for help. I offered the suggestions above. If you need more help, this is not the place to ask. Modding Skyrim requires the ability to read and follow directions and the willingness to figure some things out for yourself. The mod is free, it works, and there is no tech support.
Are there any incompatibilities between this mod and others? I just discovered that Solitude textures somehow doesn't load properly in my game when this mod is activated, ie no floor glitch. No bugs appear when I deactivate it. I also use Legacy of the Dragonborn and Solitude Reborn, among others.
This mod does not affect textures or the world space or anything like that. Use the tools available to you (such as Tes5Edit or Wrye Bash) to see what is causing your conflicts. Go to a Skyrim help forum if you need help with those tools. Your issues have nothing to do with this mod, and you're much more likely to get help elsewhere.
I love the new music and songbooks, and the mod is working nicely for me except for one element:
"You can go up to any innkeeper and tell them you would like to perform. The tips will be minimal (10-25 gold without perks), but it should be enough for a meal, and you also get a free room for the night."
No such dialogue option appears. It did when I first installed the mod, but has since stopped appearing. This is a bit frustrating, since progression depends in part on the number of inns the character has performed in. And that requires the dialogue option. Merely playing while inside the inn, but without asking the innkeeper and getting paid, does not advance the count.
Is there a chance that another dialogue-altering mod might be interfering? Any load order suggestions, or indeed any suggestions at all, would be most welcome.
Thanks. That solved the issue. I could have sworn I'd had the character collect pay after every performance, but apparently she walked out of Candlehearth Hall without settling up.
Now all I need is a mod that lets my character sell "Skyrim Tour 4E 201" t-shirts and I'm all set!
Hi, great mod. How exactly do I play a song with a follower tho. I have maruccio right now, and he is checked in the MCM menu. I gave him a drum and I have a lute. Is there a way to know which number songs have these two parts? Does him/me need a different instrument? Thanks
Soo ... I can't cancel the performance anymore? I was using the steam version before so I'm quite surprised that this happens ... because it is very problematic. Will it be implemented in future versions? Like pressing the tab or jump key to stop?
This functionality was temporarily removed if you are not using SKSE. It will be added back in the next version. A lot of the gears behind the scenes were changed with 5.0, and I didn't have time to test the stop-song feature for non-SKSE users before release. I had forgotten about it, actually. It hasn't gone away forever. In order to work seamlessly for both SKSE users and non-SKSE users, the mod is basically two mods in one. 5.0 really focuses on adding some bells and whistles that require SKSE, UIExtensions, and SkyUI.
first of all, thanks a thousand for this awesome Mod you made! I play as bard on mediaeval markets for years now and I am also a Let's player, just for fun, so now i could merge those two nice hobbies (Minute 19:30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BAX3qGXVS4)
second: How can i change the instruments my followers play? For custom songs i mean? I did a recording with guitar, flutes and a Cajon, and I would like to have a band in game. So That i play the lute, another one a drum, and the third one the flute?
Read the directions and options in the MCM. The reality is that I do not have time to provide general tech support for skyrim/modding. You have to read and figure some things out for yourself. If there is anything in the description page you don't understand (like what the MCM is and how to get), please use a search engine.

There is no instruction or how-to for playing with a "band".
Is it possible to play with two followers on three different instruments, and if it is, how?
