the variations are awesome... some too smooth for me? sure, but some people probably prefer it that way and it's nice to have the option. The more ragged one is sick (in a good way lol)... Awesome texture.
Imho it doesnt matter if the wood is chopped with an axe or an powertool/cleaver. The process is the same. Especially with fir wood, since its one of the easiest wood to maul.
I looked at the wood some days ago and realized because of the different width of the wood pieces, that sometimes the textures gets stretched to much and result in a blurry look. Maybe I upload a fix for that with a texture that's a little bit more ... compact.
For those who doesn't like the "smooth" look, try the other files, maybe there is something that suits your better. But remember I made this mod to add firewood that looks more realistic. So the smooth look is intentional.
Edit: Oh, forgot I haven't uploaded my other versions yet! Incoming...
heres an idea, why dont you use a real saw and saw up some wood (in real life), take a picture of it, make that picture into a texture and Vola! You now have a ultra HD super texture for firewood. You can also use an axe for a more bumpy texture?
Have been using the high contrast version for about a week now. I love how the wood looks in my game. I see it EVERYWHERE now. Vanilla isn't so noticeable. It looks very realistic and fresh cut. Thanks again! This one's a keeper.
