vampires desiccate when you drive a stake thru the heart. not every poison, werewolf bites are lethal to vampires and vervain is lethal as well. (btw i'm not talking about this mod specifically, it could be another mod apart from the lotus poison

By the way, the art for that picture is from the Magic the Gathering card "Black Lotus", and was made by Chris Rahn. Did you get permission to use his art here? You could at least credit the artist.
I'm aware of the source, and no, I didn't get permission. The art is not used in the mod, which is the only thing I'm claiming as my own work. The most I will do is give credit to the artist in the mod description.
I'm having trouble starting the Zaria questline. I bought the vial of Black Lotus Extract from a kahjit, but Zaria doesn't have any new dialogue options. I've tried using the console to start the quest and advance through stages, but that just yields entries in the quest log without actually unlocking anything. How might I fix this?
First of all, don't try to advance through stages using the console. It is more likely to break the quest than it is to fix it.
I find it strange that Zaria doesn't have new dialogue options. No one else has reported this issue. I have tested this mod extensively, and never had this issue.
This leads me to believe that you might not have installed the mod correctly. Are you using Mod Organizer? If so, then make absolutely sure that lotuspoison.bsa is checked under the Archives tab. If it isn't, the mod won't work correctly.
Using Mod Organizer - yep, it's checked. The new dialogue options show up in the console, I just can't seem to get Zaria to offer them. I'm using a handful of other mods but none which modify her behavior. I haven't tried the Dark Brotherhood path. A cage does show up behind her store, with nothing in it.
I found the problem. I somehow neglected to include the sequence file in the 2.0 upload. The sequence file is necessary to make dialogues appear for newly installed mods. The dialogues still work for those who upgraded from an earlier version, but people installing this mod for the first time will not get the new dialogue options.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will try to upload a new version with the fix soon.
Thanks for the report. It's been over a year since I released 2.0.1 and no one has reported any problems with the dialogue not showing up. I'm not saying you're wrong; I just find it surprising that no one else would report this issue.
Sadly, I have no time to investigate this right now. Currently my free time is at an all-time low. However, I fully intend to follow up on this once I can afford to spend the time doing so. This is by no means an abandoned project.
I can't obtain Black Lotus Extract from any of the Khajiit caravans. They are not selling it. Since it's stated that extract is very rare, I went to all three caravans several times over several in-game days, but they didn't have it. I waited for their inventory to reset, but again, they had none. I really do not know what to do next, since i can't progress further without that purchase. I even unistalled this mod and re-installed it again, just in case i did something wrong, but still NOTHING. I use NMM and LOOT and according to them everything is fine, but I still can't acquire that god damn Black Lotus Extract. Help? Please?
Have you used TES5Edit to create a merged patch? There is a 57.8% chance that each Khajiit caravan vendor will be selling at least one Black Lotus Extract.
After a dozen of nervous breakdowns, I gave up on it and went on doing some other in-game stuff, which eventually led me to Windhelm, specifically to The White Phial and there, OUT OF NOWHERE, I saw that Quintus Navale had one Black Lotus Extract in his inventory. So I bought it and proceed doing your quest. And it worked flawlessly.
I want to thank you for replaying to my post and to say that you made an excellent mod, which I endorsed and voted, and made it one of my 'core mods'. Keep up the good work on this, it has so much potential. I will definitely keep an eye on it.
And one more thing, an idea, sort of - It would be really wonderful and very original (nobody done it so far) if you could make a poison-exclusive alchemy shop, which would sell only poisons and ingredients necessary to make them. Think about it.

Yeah, apothecaries also sometimes carry Black Lotus Extract, but it's WAY rarer than finding it at a Khajiit caravan. I'm actually surprised you found one at an apothecary.

Hello, while I think this is an well done and very nice poison potion mod, its probably not what I'm looking for, I was looking for something to help make better / stronger potions, after having the miuri quest and got the 2 bottle from her and the note saying I had to wait or catch a khajiit in town for extract,then having learned it, and mad a bottle finally at a cooking pot, ! found after slipping it into a bandits pocket, its didn't have too much of effect, ... but nice little mod, thanks for sharing
The new poison should be significantly stronger than any poison found in the vanilla game, especially if you craft it with a high skill in alchemy. As in, hundreds of damage. If you're playing with the difficulty slider turned up, that will reduce the damage you do across the board. Enemies who are resistant to poison (Bosmer and Redguards) also take less damage.
ah ok my difficulty is just ... average, well not that high, I did see a few resists when I slipped them a bottle, I'm thinking my alch's riot high enough =/ but nice little mod all the same ....

This mod is a perfect match for the Poisoned perk when combined with this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61977/?The slow acting lotus poison is perfect for assassinations in crowded locations (like the poisoned apples from Oblivion) - it gives you just enough time to disappear before the poison starts to take effect.
