About this mod

Sets all encounter zone levels' minimum level to 150.

Permissions and credits
Hi,

This mod modifies all of the encounter zone minimum levels to 150. Exceptions include Bleak Falls Barrow or Embershade Mine, which have the max and min level set to the same thing (20 min/max for Bleak Falls, etc). This mod will make the game much less hospitable to new characters. I decided to make such a mod for myself, but I thought somebody else might find it useful.

Confused?

All the dungeons in the game are linked to an encounter zone for the area - For example, Bleak Falls Barrow is a dungeon in the Bleak Falls Barrow Encounter Zone. By default the level range for this zone is 0-20. This means the minimum level is 0, and the max level is 20. If you're level 1 and you enter it, the dungeon will forever be level-locked at level 1. This means the dungeon will forever have only the weakest enemies, ever. If you enter the dungeon at level 15, the dungeon will spawn up to level 15 monsters (except for bosses/rare cases). If you enter the zone at level 25, it will be pegged at 20. Now imagine if you're like Dora the Explorer and you go into every dungeon you come across at a low level because you don't feel like doing the main quest - you are now left with a ton of n00b dungeons which will never reset their level-lock.

There are ways around this, of course. One way is to make your character level 150 or so. This has issues because you can't play the game normally at level 150 unless you want to play a character that is already maxed out in levels/skills/etc (a save file for that is here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63950/? ). You can make a mod that duplicates all the Encounter Zones in the game and sets all dungeon cells in the game to use the duplicate Encounter Zone, which you will then set the level range to 20-20 for example. This means the dungeon will always be at full strength. This is the most elegant way of doing it, but also extremely time consuming. I ain't got time for that.

...Or, you can simply edit the vanilla Encounter Zones and make them all minimum level 150. This means all dungeons will be at full strength no matter what level you are. This has drawbacks as well, like making Skyrim a very, very dangerous place for lower leveled characters. Personally, I'm fine with the challenge. But if you're playing on Legendary already with mods that already make the game hard, this mod will most likely make dungeons too difficult to be enjoyable.

The loot in chests scale to your level and are not affected by the dungeon level-lock. You still won't get Daedric weapons at level 1. However, the Draugr Deathlords that pop up in the dungeons do drop Ebony weapons.

TL;DR Version:
This mod does the following:

A) Stops the dungeon level-locking. Visiting Bleak Falls at level 1 used to forever make it a level 1 dungeon. Now it's pegged at its highest level.

B) This mod does NOT affect dungeon chest loot.

C) Dungeons will be much harder for lower levels because you will meet Draugr Deathlords in most Nordic Ruins.

D) Dungeon monsters are now de-leveled.

I ain't gonna lie, most players can care less. But I'm the type that OCDs about these kinds of things.

Requirements:
This mod is meant to be run with all official DLCs and the latest version of Skyrim.

More Encounter Zones Respawn Version:
This optional version will cause all encounter zones to reset. There are actually a fair amount of dungeons that do not reset by default. If you want this feature, download just the optional version instead of the main file.

Note: NoReset zone, Thirsk Mead Hall zones, and Dark Brotherhood zones are still set to not reset to avoid very strange consequences.
